The Acer AI TransBuds adopt an open-ear fit, sitting outside the ear canal rather than sealing it, and are fully wireless with no cables or neckband involved. Wingtips are included to help keep them in place during use. They feature stereo speakers for two-channel audio output, while extras such as RGB lighting, a UV light, and a display are not part of the design.
The Acer AI TransBuds cover a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz, spanning the full extent of standard human hearing. The earbuds do not include active noise cancellation or passive noise reduction, meaning they make no attempt to block out surrounding sound — which aligns with their open-ear design. Spatial audio, Dolby Atmos, Dirac Virtuo, and a neodymium magnet driver are also absent from the specification.
Each earbud carries a 50 mAh rechargeable battery, supported by a 400 mAh charging case that provides additional charges on the go. A battery level indicator is built in, so checking remaining power is straightforward. Wireless charging and solar charging are not supported, meaning the case relies solely on a wired connection to recharge.
The Acer AI TransBuds connect wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.4, with a maximum range of 10 meters, and also feature a USB Type-C port for wired charging. Fast pairing and NFC pairing are not supported, so initial setup follows the standard Bluetooth pairing process. On the audio codec side, the earbuds do not support LDAC, LDHC, AAC, Auracast, Bluetooth LE Audio, or any variant of aptX — including aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Low Latency, aptX Lossless, and aptX Voice.
Among the more notable features, the Acer AI TransBuds include a built-in translator, a mute function, voice prompts, and can function as a headset for calls. Controls are handled via a panel placed on the device itself rather than an in-line control on a cable. Fast charging is supported, and a travel bag is included in the box. The earbuds do not offer ambient sound mode, in-ear detection for auto-pausing, a find-device feature, notification reading, a body temperature sensor, or a camera remote shutter function.
The Acer AI TransBuds are equipped with a noise-canceling microphone, which works to reduce unwanted background sound during calls and voice interactions.
