The ASRock B850 Riptide WiFi uses the AM5 socket paired with a B850 chipset and comes in the standard ATX form factor, measuring 305 mm wide and 244 mm tall. It supports a single CPU and has no integrated processor or integrated graphics. Wireless connectivity covers a broad range, from Wi-Fi 4 through to Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be), and Bluetooth 5.4 is built in, though aptX audio codec support is not included. The board features an HDMI 2.1 output, RGB lighting, and a dual BIOS, and it is noted as easy to overclock; however, a dedicated clear CMOS button for quick BIOS resets is not present. A three-year warranty is included.
This board supports DDR5 memory across four slots in a dual-channel configuration, with a maximum capacity of 256 GB. Standard RAM speeds top out at 4000 MHz, while overclocking profiles can push that figure up to 8000 MHz. ECC memory is not supported.
The rear I/O provides a varied USB selection, including two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports, and four USB 2.0 ports; there are no USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C, Gen 2x2, USB 4, Thunderbolt 3, or Thunderbolt 4 ports. Video output is handled by a single HDMI output, with no DisplayPort, DVI, or VGA connectors present. Networking is covered by one RJ45 port, and there are no eSATA or PS/2 ports on this board.
Internal connectivity is well-stocked, with four M.2 sockets and four SATA 3 connectors available for storage; there are no SATA 2, U.2, or mSATA connectors. USB expansion headers include four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, four USB 3.0 ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 port, and four USB 2.0 ports. Cooling is managed through six fan headers, and a TPM connector is also present on the board.
The board offers two full-length PCIe slots: one PCIe 5.0 x16 and one PCIe 4.0 x16. There are no PCIe 3.0, PCIe 2.0, PCIe x8, PCIe x4, PCIe x1, or legacy PCI slots present.
The onboard audio supports a 7.1-channel configuration with a DAC signal-to-noise ratio of 130 dB. Two audio connectors are available on the rear I/O, and an S/PDIF Out port is also included for digital audio output.
The board supports RAID 0, RAID 1, and RAID 10 (1+0) configurations, covering both performance-oriented striping and redundancy options. RAID 5 and RAID 0+1 are not supported.
