The ASRock X870 Pro RS uses the AM5 socket paired with the X870 chipset and follows the standard ATX form factor, measuring 305 mm wide by 244 mm tall. It supports a single CPU and does not include an integrated processor or integrated graphics. The board supports easy overclocking and features RGB lighting, though it lacks built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a dual BIOS setup, and a one-step CMOS reset function. Video output is available via an HDMI 2.1 connection. The board carries a 3-year warranty and does not have an integrated CPU.
The board features four DDR5 memory slots arranged across two channels, supporting a maximum installed capacity of 256 GB. The rated maximum RAM speed is 4000 MHz, which can be pushed to 8000 MHz through overclocking. ECC memory is not supported.
The rear I/O offers a varied USB selection, including two USB 4 40Gbps ports and two Thunderbolt 4 ports, four USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, and six USB 2.0 ports. USB Type-C connectivity is present, while USB 3.2 Gen 2, Gen 2x2, USB 4 20Gbps, and Thunderbolt 3 ports are absent. For display output, there is one HDMI port, with no DisplayPort, DVI, or VGA outputs available. A single RJ45 ethernet port handles wired networking, and there are no eSATA or PS/2 ports included.
Internal connectivity includes three M.2 sockets and four SATA 3 connectors for storage, with no SATA 2, U.2, or mSATA connectors present. For USB expansion, there are two USB 3.2 Gen 1 headers, two USB 3.0 headers, and three USB 2.0 headers available for front-panel or add-in connections. The board provides seven fan headers to accommodate cooling setups, and does not include a TPM connector.
The board provides two full-length PCIe slots: one PCIe 5.0 x16 and one PCIe 4.0 x16, covering the primary expansion needs for modern add-in cards. There are no PCIe 3.0, 2.0, x8, x4, or x1 slots, and no legacy PCI slots are present.
The onboard audio solution supports 7.1-channel output and delivers a DAC signal-to-noise ratio of 120 dB. Two audio connectors are available on the board, and an S/PDIF output port is included for digital audio passthrough.
The board supports RAID 0, RAID 1, and RAID 10 configurations for storage array setups, while RAID 5 and RAID 0+1 are not supported.
