The ASRock X870 Riptide WiFi uses the AM5 socket with the X870 chipset and follows the standard ATX form factor, measuring 305 mm wide and 244 mm tall. It supports a single CPU and does not include an integrated processor or integrated graphics. Wireless connectivity covers a full range from Wi-Fi 4 through Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be), and Bluetooth 5.4 is built in, though aptX is not supported. The board features an HDMI 2.1 output, RGB lighting, and overclocking support, while BIOS reset via clear CMOS and a dual BIOS setup are both absent. There is no integrated graphics output beyond the HDMI port tied to a compatible CPU, and the board carries a 3-year warranty.
This board supports DDR5 memory across four slots arranged in a dual-channel configuration, with a maximum capacity of 256GB. Overclocked RAM speeds can reach up to 8000 MHz, offering headroom for performance-oriented memory kits. ECC memory is not supported.
The rear I/O includes a solid spread of USB connectivity, with two USB 4 40Gbps ports and two Thunderbolt 4 ports handling the high-speed end, alongside two USB 3.2 Gen 2 USB-A ports, three USB 3.2 Gen 1 USB-A ports, and four USB 2.0 ports. USB Type-C is present, though there are no USB 3.2 Gen 2, Gen 1, or Gen 2x2 USB-C ports, nor any USB 4 20Gbps ports. For display output, there is one HDMI port and no DisplayPort, DVI, or VGA connectors. Networking is handled by a single RJ45 port, and there are no eSATA or PS/2 ports.
Internal connectivity includes three M.2 sockets and four SATA 3 connectors for storage, with no SATA 2, U.2, or mSATA options present. Expansion headers allow for four additional USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, four USB 3.0 ports, and four USB 2.0 ports. Cooling is supported through six fan headers, and there is no TPM connector on the board.
The board offers two full-length PCIe slots: one PCIe 5.0 x16 and one PCIe 4.0 x16. There are no PCIe 3.0, 2.0, x8, x4, or x1 slots, and no legacy PCI slots are present.
The onboard audio supports 7.1-channel output and delivers a DAC signal-to-noise ratio of 130 dB, with two analog audio connectors on the rear panel. A S/PDIF Out port is also included for digital audio passthrough.
The board supports RAID 0, 1, and 10 configurations for flexible storage setup options. RAID 5 and RAID 0+1 are not supported.
