The ASRock X870E Taichi Lite is built around the AM5 socket and X870 chipset, housed in an E-ATX form factor measuring 305 x 267 mm with a single CPU socket. Wireless connectivity spans Wi-Fi 4 through Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) alongside Bluetooth 5.4, though aptX is not supported. The board outputs video via HDMI 2.1 and supports overclocking, while integrated graphics and an integrated CPU are absent. RGB lighting is present, and resetting the BIOS is straightforward thanks to a clear CMOS button, though dual BIOS is not included. The board carries a three-year warranty.
The board supports DDR5 memory across four slots in a dual-channel configuration, with a maximum capacity of 256GB. Overclocked RAM speeds can reach up to 8200 MHz, offering headroom for performance tuning. ECC memory is not supported.
The rear I/O offers a well-stocked USB selection, including five USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, and two USB 2.0 ports. Notably, there are two USB 4 40Gbps ports and two Thunderbolt 4 ports, both available via Type-C connectors, while USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 and USB 4 20Gbps ports are absent. Video output is handled by a single HDMI port, with no DisplayPort, DVI, or VGA connectors present. Networking is covered by one RJ45 port, and there are no eSATA or PS/2 ports on this board.
Internal connectivity is well catered for, with four M.2 sockets and six SATA 3 connectors available for storage, while SATA 2, U.2, and mSATA connections are absent. USB expansion headers include four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, four USB 3.0 ports, and four USB 2.0 ports for additional front-panel or bracket connectivity. Cooling is managed through eight fan headers, providing ample control across the board. A TPM connector is not included.
Expansion is centered entirely on two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots, with no PCIe 4.0, 3.0, 2.0, x8, x4, or x1 slots present, and no legacy PCI slots included.
The onboard audio delivers 5.1-channel output with a DAC signal-to-noise ratio of 130 dB, supported by two analog audio connectors on the rear panel. Digital audio output is also available through an S/PDIF Out port.
The board supports RAID 0, RAID 1, and RAID 10 configurations for storage array setup, while RAID 5 and RAID 0+1 are not supported.
