The Asus ProArt X870E-Creator WiFi is built around the AM5 socket and is compatible with the X870 chipset, arriving in the standard ATX form factor at 305 × 244 mm. It supports wireless connectivity through an integrated Wi-Fi module covering Wi-Fi 4, 5, 6, 6E, and Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be), paired with Bluetooth 5.4, though aptX is not included. Video output is handled via an HDMI 2.1 port, while overclocking is supported directly from the board. RGB lighting is present, and a clear CMOS button makes BIOS resets straightforward; however, the board does not feature dual BIOS. There is a single CPU socket, no integrated graphics or integrated CPU, and the unit is backed by a three-year warranty.
This board supports DDR5 memory across four slots arranged in a dual-channel configuration, with a maximum capacity of 192GB. Overclocked RAM speeds can reach up to 8000 MHz, offering headroom for high-frequency memory kits. ECC memory is not supported.
The rear I/O offers a broad range of USB connectivity, led by two USB 4 40Gbps ports and two Thunderbolt 4 ports, alongside seven USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 port, and a single USB 2.0 port; USB Type-C is present, while there are no USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, no USB 4 20Gbps ports, and no Thunderbolt 3 ports. Display outputs consist of one HDMI and one DisplayPort, with no DVI or VGA connectors available. Network connectivity is covered by two RJ45 ports, and there are no eSATA or PS/2 ports.
Internal expansion is well catered for, with four M.2 sockets and four SATA 3 connectors available for storage; there are no SATA 2, U.2, or mSATA connectors. USB headers allow for additional ports via expansion brackets, including two USB 3.2 Gen 1 headers, two USB 3.0 headers, one USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 header, and six USB 2.0 headers. Cooling is supported by seven fan headers, while a TPM connector is not present on this board.
The board provides three full-length expansion slots in total: two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots and one PCIe 4.0 x16 slot. There are no PCIe 3.0, PCIe 2.0, PCIe x8, PCIe x4, or PCIe x1 slots, and no legacy PCI slots are present.
The onboard audio supports 7.1-channel output and delivers a DAC signal-to-noise ratio of 120 dB, with three analog audio connectors available on the rear panel. An S/PDIF Out port is not included.
The board supports RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 (1+0) configurations, covering a range of needs from performance striping to redundancy and combined setups. RAID 0+1 is not supported.
