The Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 (2025) GA605 is a gaming laptop with a notably slim profile, measuring 14mm thick with a footprint of 354mm wide by 246mm deep and a total volume of 1,219.176 cm³. It weighs 1,850g and relies on an active cooling design rather than a fanless setup. The chassis includes a backlit keyboard but does not feature weather sealing, and it is not splash-resistant.
The laptop features a 16-inch OLED/AMOLED panel running at a resolution of 2560x1600 pixels, which works out to a pixel density of 188 ppi. The screen supports a 240Hz refresh rate, making it well-suited for fast-paced content, and the GPU can drive up to four displays simultaneously. The panel does not include a touchscreen or an anti-reflection coating.
The system is equipped with 32GB of DDR5 RAM running at 7,500 MHz, which is also the maximum supported memory amount, and storage is handled by a 2,048GB NVMe SSD over a PCIe 4.0 interface using flash storage. The CPU operates with a configuration of 4x2 and 4x2 GHz across 16 threads with multithreading enabled, a turbo frequency of 5GHz, and is built on a 4nm semiconductor process with 64-bit support. On the graphics side, the GPU runs at a base clock of 2,235 MHz with a boost up to 2,520 MHz, backed by 8GB of GDDR7 VRAM, and delivers 23.22 TFLOPS of floating-point performance alongside a texture rate of 362.9 GTexels/s and a pixel rate of 121 GPixel/s. The GPU supports DirectX 12 Ultimate but does not include XeSS (XMX) functionality.
In CPU benchmarking, the laptop scores 2,467 in Geekbench 6 single-core and 11,247 in Geekbench 6 multi-core, while the overall PassMark result reaches 34,459 with a single-core PassMark score of 3,878. Graphics performance is reflected in a PassMark G3D result of 19,987.
The laptop offers a well-rounded port selection, including one USB 3.2 Gen 2 USB-C port, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 USB-A ports, one USB 4 40Gbps port, and one Thunderbolt 4 port, while there are no USB 3.2 Gen 1, Thunderbolt 3, DisplayPort, mini DisplayPort, or RJ45 ports present. Video output is covered by a single HDMI 2.1 port, and an external memory slot is available for additional storage expansion. Wireless connectivity is handled by Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) with backward compatibility down to Wi-Fi 4, paired with Bluetooth 5.4, and the laptop also supports AirPlay. A VGA connector is not included.
The laptop is fitted with a 90 Wh battery and includes sleep-and-charge USB ports, allowing connected devices to be charged even when the laptop is not in use. It does not use a MagSafe power adapter.
On the audio side, the laptop includes stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, a 3.5mm headset jack, and a three-microphone array, while an S/PDIF output is not present. A front camera is built in, though there is no fingerprint scanner, 3D facial recognition, or voice command functionality. GPU features include ray tracing and DLSS support. The laptop does not come with a stylus, optical disc drive, or motion and location sensors such as a gyroscope, accelerometer, GPS, or compass.
The GPU is based on the Blackwell architecture and operates with 4,608 shading units, 144 texture mapping units, 48 render output units, and 8 execution units, with a memory speed of 2,000 MHz, an effective memory speed of 25,400 MHz, a 128-bit memory bus, and a maximum bandwidth of 405.8 GB/s; it supports multi-display output, stereoscopic 3D, Double Precision Floating Point, OpenCL 3, OpenGL 4.6, and does not use LHR. An integrated Radeon 860M GPU is also present. The CPU has a 50W TDP, a clock multiplier of 20, 16MB of L3 cache, 8MB of L2 cache, a maximum operating temperature of 100°C, two memory channels with a maximum RAM speed of 8,000 MHz, and employs big.LITTLE technology; it supports instruction sets including MMX, F16C, FMA3, AES, AVX, AVX2, SSE 4.1, and SSE 4.2, along with the NX bit, but does not have an unlocked multiplier. The system uses Intel Resizable BAR, supports ECC memory, and achieves an overclocked PassMark score of 24,477.
