The Black Shark Fengming S1 uses an over-ear fit and features a closed-back design with stereo speakers. It is built for adult use and can be folded for easier transport. The headset includes a 1.2-metre detachable, tangle-free cable, giving users the flexibility to swap or replace it as needed.
The Fengming S1 covers a full 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz frequency range through 40 mm driver units that do not use a neodymium magnet. It supports both active noise cancellation and passive noise reduction, giving users two layers of sound isolation, and also includes spatial audio support for a more immersive listening experience.
The Fengming S1 houses a built-in, non-removable 1000 mAh rechargeable battery that delivers up to 155 hours of playback, dropping to 80 hours when ANC is enabled. It charges via USB Type-C and includes a battery level indicator so users can monitor remaining charge at a glance. Wireless and solar charging are not supported.
The Fengming S1 supports both wireless and wired connectivity, using Bluetooth 6 with a maximum range of 10 metres and an audio latency of 60 ms. The AAC codec is supported, while aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Low Latency, aptX Lossless, LDAC, LDHC, LE Audio, and Auracast are not. Fast pairing and NFC-based pairing are also absent, so connections are established through the standard Bluetooth pairing process.
The Fengming S1 can function as a headset and is equipped with five microphones, including noise-cancelling capability, making it suitable for calls and voice communication. Controls are handled through an on-device panel rather than an in-line cable remote, and an ambient sound mode lets users stay aware of their surroundings when needed. In/on-ear detection and a dedicated mute function are not included.
