Blackview BV4800 SE

The Blackview BV4800 SE has a fixed, non-folding form factor measuring 174.7 mm tall, 81.5 mm wide, and 13.5 mm thick, with a total volume of approximately 192.21 cm³. It weighs 285 g and carries an IP68 ingress protection rating, classifying it as waterproof against dust and water intrusion. Despite its water resistance, the device does not feature a rugged build designation.

The display on the Blackview BV4800 SE is a 6.56-inch IPS LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1612 px and a pixel density of 269 ppi. It supports a 90Hz refresh rate, contributing to smoother on-screen motion. The panel does not include an Always-On Display mode, branded damage-resistant glass, or support for HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, and there is no secondary screen present.

The Blackview BV4800 SE is powered by the Unisoc T615 chipset, built on a 12 nm process with an octa-core CPU running at up to 1.8 GHz across 8 threads using big.LITTLE technology and a 10W TDP. It is paired with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM at 1866 MHz and 64GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage, with external memory expandable up to 2TB and a maximum supported memory amount of 12GB. Graphics are handled by the Mali G57 GPU clocked at 850 MHz with 2 execution units and 64 shading units, supporting OpenGL 3.2, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2. The SoC includes integrated LTE, integrated graphics, TrustZone security, and 64-bit support with multithreading enabled, alongside a 1 MB L3 cache. Benchmark results place it at 437 single-core and 1461 multi-core in Geekbench 6, 357 single-core and 1350 multi-core in Geekbench 5, and 255,444 in AnTuTu.

The BV4800 SE features a dual-lens rear camera system combining a 16 MP and a 2 MP sensor on a CMOS array, capable of recording video at 1080p and 30 fps. Autofocus options include phase-detection autofocus for stills, continuous autofocus during video recording, and touch autofocus, though laser autofocus is absent. Manual controls cover exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, while burst mode, HDR, and in-camera panorama shooting are all supported; slow-motion recording, timelapse, raw capture, manual shutter speed, and 360-degree panorama are not available. A single LED flash is present on the rear, with no dual-tone or RGB flash, and the front camera offers an 8 MP single-lens shooter without a front-facing flash or under-display placement. Neither HDR10 nor Dolby Vision recording is supported, and the camera system has no 3D photo or video capabilities.

The BV4800 SE runs Android 15 and includes a broad set of privacy controls, covering clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access management, and the ability to block app tracking, though cross-site tracking blocking and Mail Privacy Protection are not present. On the usability side, it supports dark mode, dynamic and manual theme customization, an extra dim mode, customizable notifications, notification permissions, a media picker, widgets, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, sharing intents, and the ability to play games while they download. App management features include app offloading and a child lock, while on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, phone tracking, and multi-user support are all included. Wi-Fi password sharing, focus modes, Quick Start, and the ability to function as a PC are not supported, and the device does not receive direct OS updates from the vendor. The operating system is free and open source.

The BV4800 SE is equipped with a 5100 mAh rechargeable battery that supports fast charging at 10W, and a charger is included in the box. A battery level indicator is present for monitoring charge status. The battery is not removable and wireless charging is not supported.

The BV4800 SE includes stereo speakers but omits a 3.5 mm headphone jack. On the wireless audio side, none of the advanced Bluetooth codec options are supported, including aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, or LDAC. There is also no built-in radio receiver.

The BV4800 SE supports dual SIM cards and connects via Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), with cellular connectivity included but no 5G support. Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC are both present, and the device uses a USB Type-C port running on USB 2.0. Download speeds reach up to 300 Mbit/s and upload up to 150 Mbit/s. An external memory slot is available for storage expansion. Location and motion sensing is covered by GPS with Galileo support, a gyroscope, accelerometer, and compass, while a barometer, infrared sensor, heart rate monitor, and ANT+ are absent. Security features include a fingerprint scanner, though 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are not present. HDMI output, DLNA certification, crash detection, emergency SOS via satellite, motion tracking, optical tracking, and a built-in projector are all unsupported, and no stylus is included.

The BV4800 SE includes a video light for use during video recording. The display is flat rather than curved, does not use sapphire glass, and is not an e-paper panel.
