The boAt Airdopes 120 are true wireless in-ear earbuds with stereo speakers and an IPX4 rating that makes them sweat resistant during use. They are not a neckband design and do not include wingtips for additional ear securing.
Audio is handled by a 10 mm driver unit covering a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. Ambient noise is managed through passive isolation rather than active noise cancellation, which is not present. The drivers do not use a neodymium magnet.
The earbuds offer 8 hours of battery life per charge, with the charging case extending the total to 32 hours of combined playback. A full charge takes 1.5 hours via the rechargeable battery system, and a battery level indicator keeps remaining power visible. Wireless charging is not supported.
The earbuds connect wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.3 with a maximum range of 10 m and a rated audio latency of 65 ms. Charging is handled over USB Type-C, and fast pairing is not supported, nor is NFC-based pairing. On the codec side, none of the high-resolution or low-latency options are available — aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Low Latency, aptX Lossless, aptX Voice, LDAC, LDHC, and AAC are all absent — meaning the connection relies on the standard SBC codec by default.
The earbuds support in-ear detection for automatic playback pausing, a mute function, voice prompts, and can be used as a headset for calls. Controls are placed on the earbud itself rather than an in-line panel, and fast charging is supported. Ambient sound mode, a find-device feature, and a body temperature sensor are all absent. A travel bag is included in the box, and the product carries a one-year warranty.
The earbuds are equipped with a total of four microphones, and noise cancellation is applied to the microphone signal to help reduce background sounds during calls.
