The Boult Audio Mustang Torq uses an in-ear fit and operates as a fully true wireless design, meaning there are no cables or neckband involved. It does not include wingtips for additional ear stability. The earbuds carry an IPX5 ingress protection rating, making them sweat resistant and suitable for physical activity. Stereo speakers are present, delivering audio through both earbuds simultaneously.
The Mustang Torq uses a 13 mm driver unit and covers a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. It does not feature active noise cancellation, but passive noise reduction is present, helping to block out ambient sound through the physical fit of the earbuds. The drivers do not use a neodymium magnet.
The Mustang Torq earbuds offer 8 hours of battery life on a single charge, with the charging case extending total playback to 42 hours. A full charge takes 1.5 hours, and wireless charging is not supported. The battery is rechargeable, and a battery level indicator is built in to help track remaining charge.
The Mustang Torq connects wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.4 with a maximum range of 10 m and an audio latency of 45 ms. AAC codec is supported, while LDAC, LDHC, and the full range of aptX variants — including aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Low Latency, aptX Lossless, and aptX Voice — are not available. Fast pairing and NFC-based pairing are also absent. Charging is handled through USB Type-C, and the earbuds can be used wirelessly without any wired connection option.
The Mustang Torq supports fast charging and can function as a headset for calls, with controls accessible directly on the earbuds rather than through an in-line panel. A mute function and voice prompts are both included, adding a degree of convenience during everyday use. A travel bag is included in the box for portability. The earbuds do not feature ambient sound mode, in/on-ear detection, a find device function, or a body temperature sensor.
The Mustang Torq is equipped with 4 microphones and includes noise-canceling microphone functionality, helping to reduce unwanted background sound during calls.
