They carry an IPX5 water resistance rating, meaning they can handle splashes and sweat without damage. The earbuds feature stereo speakers for two-channel audio output, while wingtips, RGB lighting, a UV light, and a display are all absent from the design.
The Boult Audio Octave use a 13 mm driver unit and cover a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz, spanning the full standard audible spectrum. The earbuds offer passive noise reduction through their in-ear fit, though active noise cancellation is not included. Spatial audio, Dolby Atmos, Dirac Virtuo, and a neodymium magnet are not part of the audio setup.
The Boult Audio Octave offer 8 hours of battery life per charge, with the included charging case extending the total to 52 hours of combined playback. The earbuds have a rechargeable battery and take approximately 1.5 hours to fully charge, with a battery level indicator keeping track of remaining power. Wireless charging and solar battery charging are not supported.
The Boult Audio Octave connect wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.3 with a maximum range of 10 m and an audio latency of 45 ms. AAC codec is supported, while LDAC, LDHC, aptX and all its variants, Bluetooth LE Audio, and Auracast are not available. Pairing options do not include fast pairing or NFC, and the earbuds use USB Type-C for wired charging.
The Boult Audio Octave support fast charging and can function as a headset for calls, with a mute function and voice prompts included for added convenience during use. Controls are handled through a panel placed on the device, while an in-line control panel is not present. A travel bag is included in the box. Features such as ambient sound mode, in/on-ear detection, a find device function, notification reading, a body temperature sensor, and a camera remote shutter are not part of the earbuds' feature set.
