The Colorful iGame Z890 Ultra V20 is an ATX motherboard measuring 305 mm × 244 mm, built around a single LGA 1851 socket and compatible with the Z890 chipset. Wireless connectivity spans Wi-Fi 4 through Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) with Bluetooth 5.4 also integrated, though aptX audio codec support is not included. The board features RGB lighting, an HDMI 2.0 output, and supports easy overclocking as well as a straightforward BIOS reset via a clear CMOS function, while dual BIOS is not present. It does not include an integrated CPU or integrated graphics. A three-year warranty is provided, and the board carries no PS/2 or legacy connector dependencies typical of older form factors.
The board supports DDR5 memory across four slots in a dual-channel configuration, with a maximum capacity of 192GB. The standard rated speed tops out at 6400 MHz, while overclocked operation can reach up to 8800 MHz for users looking to push memory performance further. ECC memory is not supported.
The rear I/O panel provides four USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports and four USB 2.0 ports, alongside two USB 4 40Gbps ports and two Thunderbolt 4 ports, all delivered via Type-C connectors. No USB 3.2 Gen 1, USB 3.2 Gen 2x2, or USB 4 20Gbps ports are present. Display output is handled through one HDMI and one DisplayPort, while VGA and DVI outputs are absent. A single RJ45 port covers wired networking, and there are no eSATA or PS/2 ports.
Internal connectivity is well-provisioned, with five M.2 sockets and four SATA 3 connectors available for storage devices, while SATA 2, U.2, and mSATA are not supported. USB expansion headers include two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 port, and four USB 2.0 ports, all accessible through internal connectors. Five fan headers are present for cooling management, and there is no TPM connector on the board.
The board offers three expansion slots in total: one PCIe 5.0 x16 slot, one PCIe 4.0 x16 slot, and one PCIe x1 slot. There are no PCIe 2.0, PCIe 3.0, PCIe x4, PCIe x8, or legacy PCI slots present.
The onboard audio supports 7.1-channel output with a signal-to-noise ratio of 120 dB on the DAC, providing clean analog output across five audio connectors. An S/PDIF Out port is also included for digital audio passthrough.
The board supports RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 (1+0) configurations, covering a range of performance and redundancy setups. RAID 0+1 is not supported.
