Coolpad C35 Plus

The Coolpad C35 Plus has a conventional, non-folding form factor with no rugged certification and no water resistance. It stands 171.5 mm tall and 79.9 mm wide, with a thickness of 8.8 mm and a total volume of 120.59 cm³. The handset weighs 209 g, placing it on the heavier side for a device of its dimensions.

The Coolpad C35 Plus uses an IPS LCD touchscreen measuring 6.9 inches with a resolution of 720 x 1600 px and a pixel density of 254 ppi. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate, which contributes to smoother on-screen motion. It does not include branded damage-resistant glass, and there is no support for HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision. The display also lacks an Always-On mode and a secondary screen.

The Coolpad C35 Plus is powered by the MediaTek Helio G81 chipset, built on a 12 nm process with 5,500 million transistors and a TDP of 5W. The octa-core CPU uses big.LITTLE architecture, running two cores at up to 2 GHz and six cores at 1.8 GHz across 8 threads, with integrated LTE and TrustZone security support. It is paired with 6 GB of LPDDR4 RAM at 1800 MHz across two memory channels, offering a maximum memory bandwidth of 13.41 GB/s and a maximum supported memory amount of 8 GB. Storage stands at 128 GB on an eMMC 5.1 interface. Graphics are handled by the Mali G52 MP2, featuring 2 execution units, 32 shading units, and a turbo clock of 950 MHz, with support for DirectX 12, OpenGL 3.2, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2.0. The SoC also includes an L2 cache of 0.3 MB and an L3 cache of 1 MB, and the platform scores 420 single-core and 1,391 multi-core on Geekbench 6, alongside 350 single-core and 1,300 multi-core on Geekbench 5.

The Coolpad C35 Plus features a dual-lens rear camera system led by a 50 MP main sensor with an f/2.0 aperture, phase-detection autofocus, touch autofocus, and continuous autofocus during video recording. It supports manual controls for exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, along with HDR mode, burst shooting, panorama, timelapse, and slow-motion video capture, while optical zoom is not available and RAW output is not supported. Video recording tops out at 1080p at 30 fps, with no HDR10 or Dolby Vision recording support. The rear flash consists of a single LED unit without dual-tone or RGB capabilities, and there is no optical image stabilization, laser autofocus, or 3D recording. On the front, an 8 MP single-lens camera with an f/2.0 aperture handles selfies, though it lacks a dedicated flash and is not positioned under the display.

The Coolpad C35 Plus ships with Android 15, a free and open-source platform that supports multi-user profiles, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, widgets, dynamic theming, dark mode, and an extra dim display mode. Customizable notifications, a media picker, full-page screenshots, Live Text, sharing intents, offline voice recognition, voice commands, app offloading, and the ability to play games while they download are all part of the feature set. On the privacy side, the OS includes clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access controls, app tracking blocking, and battery health monitoring, though cross-site tracking blocking, Mail Privacy Protection, and Wi-Fi password sharing are absent. Focus modes and Quick Start are not supported, and the device does not receive direct OS updates from the vendor.

The Coolpad C35 Plus is equipped with a 6000 mAh rechargeable, non-removable battery that supports 18W wired fast charging and includes a battery level indicator. Wireless charging and reverse wireless charging are not available on this device.

The Coolpad C35 Plus includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a built-in radio, offering basic wired audio connectivity alongside over-the-air listening. The device does not feature stereo speakers, and none of the advanced Bluetooth audio codecs — aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, or LDAC — are supported.

The Coolpad C35 Plus supports dual SIM cards and connects via Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), Bluetooth 5.0, and NFC, though 5G is not available. Cellular connectivity is present with download speeds of up to 300 Mbit/s and upload speeds of up to 100 Mbit/s. The device features a USB Type-C port running USB 2.0, an external memory card slot, and a fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication. For positioning, it includes GPS with Galileo support alongside a compass and an accelerometer, while a gyroscope, barometer, and infrared sensor are absent. Additional features such as HDMI output, DLNA certification, ANT+ support, a heart rate monitor, 3D facial recognition, an iris scanner, crash detection, satellite SOS, motion or optical tracking, and a built-in projector are all not included.

The Coolpad C35 Plus includes a video light for recording in low-light conditions. The display is flat rather than curved, and neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel is used.
