Coolpad CP12 Neo

The Coolpad CP12 Neo has a conventional, non-folding form factor with dimensions of 164.2 x 75.7 x 8.8 mm and a weight of 196.2 g, resulting in a total volume of approximately 109.38 cm³. It does not feature a rugged build and carries no water resistance rating, so the device offers no certified protection against moisture or physical extremes.

The Coolpad CP12 Neo uses an IPS LCD touchscreen measuring 6.56″ with a resolution of 720 x 1612 px and a pixel density of 269 ppi. One of its more notable display traits is its 120Hz refresh rate, which contributes to smoother on-screen motion. The panel does not include branded damage-resistant glass, and it lacks support for HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and Always-On Display functionality. There is no secondary screen on this device.

The Coolpad CP12 Neo is powered by the Unisoc SC9863A chipset, built on a 28 nm process with an octa-core CPU configuration running at 4 x 1.6 GHz and 4 x 1.2 GHz using big.LITTLE technology across 8 threads, and a TDP of 3W. Graphics are handled by the integrated PowerVR GE8322 GPU, clocked at 550 MHz with a turbo of 800 MHz, 4 execution units, 128 shading units, and support for DirectX 11 and OpenGL ES 3.2. The device ships with 4GB of DDR4 RAM running at 933 MHz across 2 memory channels, offering a maximum memory bandwidth of 7.464 GB/s and a maximum supported memory amount of 6GB, while 256GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage is provided. Benchmark results place the chipset at an AnTuTu score of 154,110, Geekbench 6 multi- and single-core scores of 725 and 164 respectively, Geekbench 5 scores of 2,956 multi and 901 single, and PassMark results of 1,327 overall and 478 single-threaded. Additional silicon-level features include integrated LTE, integrated graphics, 64-bit support, OpenCL 2, and 0.512 MB of L3 cache.

The rear camera on the Coolpad CP12 Neo uses a single 13MP CMOS sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, phase-detection autofocus, and touch autofocus, though it lacks optical image stabilization, a BSI sensor, laser autofocus, and optical zoom. It records video at 1080p at 30fps with continuous autofocus during recording and slow-motion support, but does not offer HDR10 or Dolby Vision recording. A single LED flash is present, with no dual-tone or RGB flash variant. Manual controls extend to exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, while burst mode, HDR, panorama, and timelapse round out the shooting options; raw capture and manual shutter speed are not available, nor is 360° panorama or 3D recording. The front camera is a 5MP single-lens unit with an f/2.0 aperture, positioned above the display rather than beneath it, and it has no dedicated flash or additional lens alongside it.

The Coolpad CP12 Neo runs Android 14, bringing a solid set of privacy and usability features to the table. On the privacy side, it offers clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access controls, and the ability to block app tracking, though Mail Privacy Protection and cross-site tracking blocking are absent. The OS supports theme customization, dynamic theming, dark mode, and an extra dim mode for display comfort, while focus modes and app offloading are not available. Productivity is aided by split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, a media picker, customizable notifications, sharing intents, and the ability to play games while they are still downloading. On-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, and device tracking are all present, and the system supports multiple user accounts, widgets, a child lock, and a battery health check. Wi-Fi password sharing and Quick Start are not included, and OS updates do not come directly from the vendor.

The Coolpad CP12 Neo houses a 5000 mAh rechargeable battery that is non-removable and supports fast charging at 10W, with a charger included in the box. Wireless charging is not available. The device features a battery level indicator, making it straightforward to keep track of remaining charge.

The Coolpad CP12 Neo has a notably sparse audio feature set. It does not include a 3.5 mm headphone jack or stereo speakers, and there is no built-in radio. On the wireless audio side, none of the high-quality Bluetooth codec options are supported, with aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC all absent.

The Coolpad CP12 Neo supports dual SIM cards and connects via Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), with cellular connectivity on board but no 5G support. NFC is present, and Bluetooth 4.2 handles short-range wireless communication. The USB Type-C port operates at USB 2.0 speeds, while maximum download and upload speeds reach 300 Mbits/s and 150 Mbits/s respectively. An external memory slot allows for storage expansion. Location is covered by GPS with Galileo support, complemented by a compass and accelerometer, though the device lacks a gyroscope, barometer, and any motion or optical tracking sensors. Biometric security is provided by a fingerprint scanner, while 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are not included. There is no infrared sensor, HDMI output, ANT+ support, DLNA certification, heart rate monitor, satellite SOS, crash detection, or built-in projector, and no stylus is included in the box.

The Coolpad CP12 Neo includes a video light, which can be used during video recording. The display is flat rather than curved and uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel.
