Cubot KingKong X Pro

The Cubot KingKong X Pro features a rugged build designed to withstand tough conditions, backed by an IP68 waterproof rating that confirms full protection against water ingress. It is not a folding device, keeping a fixed form factor that measures 175.9 mm in height, 83.3 mm in width, and 18.4 mm in thickness, with a total volume of approximately 269.61 cm³. The phone weighs 392 g, which reflects the reinforced construction typical of devices built for durability.

The Cubot KingKong X Pro uses an IPS LCD touchscreen measuring 6.72″ with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a pixel density of 392 ppi, delivering a reasonably sharp visual output. Its 144Hz refresh rate allows for smoother on-screen motion, and the device also includes a secondary screen alongside the main panel. The display does not support HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, and it lacks an Always-On Display mode as well as branded damage-resistant glass.

The Cubot KingKong X Pro is driven by the Mediatek Dimensity 8200 chipset, built on a 4nm process with an 8-thread CPU configuration running at speeds of 1 x 3.1 GHz, 3 x 3 GHz, and 4 x 2 GHz using big.LITTLE and HMP technologies. It is paired with 24GB of DDR5 RAM at 6400 MHz and 256GB of internal storage, while the maximum supported memory amount reaches 16GB with a peak bandwidth of 51.2 GB/s across 4 memory channels. Graphics are handled by the integrated Mali G610 MP6 GPU clocked at 950 MHz, supporting DirectX 12 and OpenCL 2, with an L3 cache of 4MB and a TDP of 6W. The chipset scores 918000 on AnTuTu, 3891 in Geekbench 6 multi-core and 1224 single-core, and 3889 in Geekbench 5 multi-core and 998 single-core. The SoC also includes integrated LTE, TrustZone security, NX bit support, and full 64-bit compatibility.

The Cubot KingKong X Pro features a multi-lens rear camera system with three sensors at 100MP, 24MP, and 5MP, using a CMOS sensor and supporting phase-detection autofocus for stills as well as continuous autofocus during video recording. The main camera captures video at up to 2160p at 30fps and supports slow-motion recording, though it does not offer optical image stabilization, laser autofocus, or optical zoom. Manual controls cover ISO, exposure, focus, and white balance, while burst mode, touch autofocus, HDR mode, and in-camera panorama are also available; however, manual shutter speed, RAW capture, and 360° panorama are not supported. A single LED flash is present on the rear, with no dual-tone or RGB flash, and video recording does not support HDR10 or Dolby Vision formats. On the front, a 32MP single-lens camera handles selfies without a dedicated flash, and it is positioned on the front surface rather than under the display.

The Cubot KingKong X Pro runs Android 14 and includes a broad set of privacy controls, covering clipboard warnings, location privacy options, and camera and microphone access management, though Mail Privacy Protection and cross-site tracking blocking are not present. Customization options include theme customization, dynamic theming, dark mode, and an extra dim mode, while focus modes and app offloading are not supported. The OS offers practical productivity features such as split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, a media picker, sharing intents, customizable notifications, and the ability to play games while they download. It supports on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, Live Text, widgets, a child lock, multi-user functionality, and device position tracking. Wi-Fi password sharing and Quick Start are absent, and the device does not receive direct OS updates from the vendor, nor can it function as a PC.

The Cubot KingKong X Pro is equipped with a 10200 mAh rechargeable battery that supports 33W fast charging, and a charger is included in the box. A battery level indicator is present for monitoring charge status. The battery is not removable, and wireless charging is not supported.

On the audio side, the Cubot KingKong X Pro does not include a 3.5mm headphone jack or stereo speakers. Bluetooth audio codec support is also absent across the board, with no aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, or LDAC available.

The Cubot KingKong X Pro supports 5G connectivity along with Wi-Fi 4, Wi-Fi 5, and Wi-Fi 6, and accommodates two SIM cards alongside an external memory slot for additional storage. It connects via USB Type-C and Bluetooth 5.3, and includes NFC, with download speeds reaching 4700 MBits/s and upload speeds up to 2500 MBits/s. For navigation, the device features GPS with Galileo support, a compass, gyroscope, and accelerometer, while a fingerprint scanner handles biometric authentication; 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are not present. The phone does not include a heart rate monitor, barometer, infrared sensor, ANT+ support, HDMI output, built-in projector, or a stylus, and it lacks crash detection, satellite SOS, and DLNA certification.

The Cubot KingKong X Pro includes a video light for use during video recording, while the display is flat rather than curved and does not use sapphire glass or e-paper technology.
