The Cubot Tab KingKong 2 is built around a rugged design philosophy, measuring 181.4 x 273.8 mm with a thickness of 16.8 mm and a weight of 1055 g. Its most defining design trait is the IP68 waterproof rating, which certifies the tablet against submersion to a depth of 1.5 metres, making it suitable for wet or harsh environments. The overall volume comes in at approximately 834.41 cm³, reflecting a device that prioritises protection over slim proportions. No stylus, detachable keyboard, or backlit keyboard is included in the package.
The tablet features a 10.95″ IPS LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, resulting in a pixel density of 207 ppi. The panel is protected by branded damage-resistant glass, adding a layer of durability to everyday handling. It does not include an anti-reflection coating, and there is no support for HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, nor does it use an e-paper or sapphire glass display.
The tablet is driven by the Mediatek Helio G99 chipset, built on a 6 nm process with an 8-core CPU configuration running at 2 x 2.2 GHz and 6 x 2.0 GHz, supported by big.LITTLE and HMP technologies across 8 threads and a TDP of 5W with a maximum operating temperature of 95 °C. Graphics are handled by the Mali G57 GPU, clocked at 950 MHz with a turbo of 2133 MHz, 32 shading units, support for up to 2 displays, DirectX 11, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2. The tablet ships with 8GB of RAM running at 4266 MHz across 2 memory channels, a maximum memory bandwidth of 17.1 GB/s, and a ceiling of 12GB, while storage sits at 256GB via eMMC 5.2 with an external memory slot for further expansion. Geekbench 6 scores come in at 729 single-core and 1979 multi-core, and the system runs Android 14 with 64-bit support, integrated LTE on the SoC, integrated graphics, and ARM TrustZone security.
The main camera on this tablet resolves at 64 MP using a CMOS sensor, recording video at up to 1080p at 30 fps, and is paired with a single LED flash and a video light. Manual controls include ISO, exposure, focus, and white balance, while touch autofocus and continuous autofocus during video recording are both supported, alongside a built-in HDR mode. Optical zoom is not available, and the sensor lacks back-side illumination as well as optical image stabilization. The front camera comes in at 32 MP but has no front-facing flash. Features such as slow-motion video, timelapse, panorama, 360° panorama, burst mode, dual-tone or RGB flash, manual shutter speed, HDR10 recording, Dolby Vision recording, and 3D photo or video capture are all absent.
The audio capabilities of this tablet are notably limited across the board. It does not include stereo speakers or a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and there is no built-in radio. On the wireless audio side, none of the higher-quality Bluetooth codec standards are supported, including aptX, aptX HD, aptX Low Latency, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, or LDAC.
The tablet houses a 20400 mAh rechargeable battery and includes a battery level indicator to keep track of remaining charge. The battery is not removable, and neither fast charging nor wireless charging is supported.
Wireless connectivity is handled by Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) alongside Bluetooth 5.2, with download and upload speeds reaching 650 Mbits/s and 150 Mbits/s respectively, while a USB Type-C port covers wired connections. The tablet accepts one SIM card but does not include a cellular module, 5G support, GPS, NFC, HDMI output, Ethernet, or an infrared sensor. Sensors on board include a gyroscope, accelerometer, and compass, and the device supports Galileo positioning as well as mobile device tracking. On the software and features side, the tablet offers on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, a media picker, widgets, dark mode, dynamic and manual theme customization, an extra dim mode, full-page screenshots, customizable notifications, sharing intents, and a child lock for managed use. Privacy provisions cover location options, camera and microphone access controls, clipboard warnings, and app tracking blocks, though cross-site tracking blocking, Mail Privacy Protection, and Wi-Fi password sharing are not present. The system supports multiple user accounts and allows games to be played while downloading, but does not offer focus modes, app offloading, Quick Start, direct OS vendor updates, a fingerprint scanner, 3D facial recognition, an iris scanner, a barometer, a built-in projector, or battery health monitoring — with the exception that battery health check is included.
The tablet uses DDR4 memory.
