Doogee S118

The Doogee S118 features a rugged build with an IP68 waterproof rating, making it resistant to water and dust ingress. It measures 178.5 mm in height, 83.1 mm in width, and 17.9 mm in thickness, with a total volume of approximately 265.52 cm³ and a weight of 371 g. The device does not support a folding form factor, presenting instead a solid, fixed-frame construction suited to tough environments.

The Doogee S118 uses a 6.58″ IPS LCD touchscreen with a 1080 x 2408 px resolution and a pixel density of 401 ppi, delivering a sharp and detailed image. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother on-screen motion, and the panel is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus for added durability. The display does not support HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, or Always-On Display functionality, and there is no secondary screen present.

The Doogee S118 is powered by the Mediatek Helio G99 chipset, built on a 6 nm process with an 8-thread CPU running at 2 x 2.2 GHz and 6 x 2 GHz using big.LITTLE architecture with HMP support, and a TDP of 5W with a maximum CPU temperature of 95 °C. It comes with 8 GB of DDR4 RAM running at 4266 MHz across 2 memory channels, with a maximum supported memory amount of 12 GB and a memory bandwidth of 17.1 GB/s, alongside 512 GB of internal eMMC 5.1 storage expandable up to 2000 GB. Graphics are handled by the integrated Mali G57 GPU clocked at 950 MHz with a turbo frequency of 2133 MHz, 32 shading units, a pixel rate of 1.7 GPixel/s, support for DirectX 11 and OpenCL 2, OpenGL ES 3.2, and up to 2 simultaneous displays. The chipset also integrates LTE, TrustZone security, and 64-bit support, while benchmark results include an AnTuTu score of 387,300, a Geekbench 6 multi-core score of 1979, and a single-core score of 729.

The Doogee S118 features a triple rear camera system with 50 MP, 12 MP, and 8 MP sensors at apertures of f/1.8, f/1.8, and f/2.2 respectively, using a CMOS sensor without back-side illumination or optical image stabilization. Autofocus options include phase-detection and touch autofocus, as well as continuous autofocus during video recording, though laser autofocus is not present. The rear camera supports HDR mode, manual exposure, manual ISO, manual focus, manual white balance, burst mode, slow-motion video recording, and in-camera panoramas, but does not offer manual shutter speed, RAW capture, 360° panorama, HDR10 or Dolby Vision recording, or 3D photo and video capabilities. Lighting is provided by a dual-tone LED flash with 2 LEDs, while no RGB flash is included. On the front, a 32 MP single-lens camera with an f/2.0 aperture handles selfies, but lacks a front-facing flash, an under-display placement, or a dual-lens arrangement.

The Doogee S118 runs Android 14, an open-source platform that supports multi-user accounts, voice commands with offline voice recognition, on-device machine learning, and device tracking. Privacy controls are well represented, covering clipboard warnings, location privacy options, and camera and microphone access management, though Mail Privacy Protection and cross-site tracking blocking are not included. On the usability side, the OS offers dark mode, extra dim mode, dynamic and manual theme customization, customizable notifications, a media picker, full-page scrolling screenshots, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, sharing intents, widgets, a child lock, Live Text, and the ability to play games while they download. App tracking can be blocked, and a battery health check tool is available, while Wi-Fi password sharing, focus modes, app offloading, Quick Start, and the ability to function as a PC are not supported. Direct OS updates from the vendor are not provided.

The Doogee S118 is equipped with a 10800 mAh rechargeable battery that supports 33W fast charging, with a charger included in the box. A battery level indicator is present for monitoring charge status. The battery is not removable and does not support wireless charging.

The Doogee S118 includes stereo speakers and a built-in radio, but does not have a 3.5 mm headphone jack. On the wireless audio side, it lacks support for aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC, meaning high-resolution and low-latency Bluetooth audio codecs are not available.

The Doogee S118 supports dual SIM cards and connects wirelessly via Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC, though 5G is not supported. Wired connectivity is handled through a USB Type-C port running USB 2.0, and an external memory slot is available for storage expansion. Cellular download speeds reach up to 650 Mbit/s with upload speeds of up to 150 Mbit/s. Location capabilities include GPS with Galileo support, and onboard sensors cover a gyroscope, accelerometer, and compass. Security is managed via a fingerprint scanner, while 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are not included. Features such as satellite SOS, crash detection, a heart rate monitor, barometer, infrared sensor, ANT+ support, HDMI output, DLNA certification, a built-in projector, motion tracking, optical tracking, and a stylus are all absent.

The Doogee S118 includes a video light for recording in low-light conditions. The display is flat rather than curved, and the device uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper screen.
