The EarFun UBoom X has a physical footprint of 400 × 251 × 117 mm and a volume of 11,746.8 cm³, placing it among the larger end of portable speakers at a weight of 4,150 g. It houses four drivers and carries an IPX7 water resistance rating, meaning it can withstand submersion rather than just splash exposure. Controls are built directly into the device body, while a touchscreen, remote control, and detachable cable are all absent. No travel bag is included in the box, and the drivers do not use neodymium magnets.
The EarFun UBoom X delivers 4 × 20W of audio output through a stereo speaker arrangement that is complemented by a dedicated subwoofer and a passive radiator, the latter helping to extend low-end response without requiring additional active amplification. A single microphone is built in, though it does not feature noise-canceling capability. Magnetic shielding is not present in the design.
The EarFun UBoom X is powered by an 8,400 mAh rechargeable battery that provides up to 30 hours of playback on a full charge, which takes approximately 6 hours to complete. A battery level indicator is included so remaining charge can be monitored at a glance. The battery is not removable, and wireless charging is not supported — charging is handled exclusively through a wired connection.
The EarFun UBoom X connects wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.3 with a maximum range of 10 m, and also accepts a wired source through an AUX input. Two USB ports are on board, including a USB Type-C connection, though there is no 3.5 mm headphone socket, microphone input, or external memory slot. Wi-Fi, Ethernet, DLNA, AirPlay, Chromecast, and Auracast are all absent, as is NFC pairing. On the codec side, none of the advanced wireless audio formats are supported — including AAC, LDAC, LE Audio, aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Low Latency, and aptX Lossless — meaning the speaker relies on standard Bluetooth audio transmission without enhanced codec options.
The EarFun UBoom X can be used wirelessly and supports smartphone remote control, allowing playback management from a connected device. Voice commands and voice prompts are both available, adding hands-free interaction to its feature set. A power bank function is built in, enabling the speaker to charge external devices directly from its battery. A sleep timer is also included for scheduled shutoff. Fast pairing, a mute function, and a built-in radio are not supported.
The EarFun UBoom X supports stereo pairing, allowing two compatible units to be linked together for a wider stereo soundstage.
