The Edifier NeoDots follow a true wireless, in-ear design with no cables or neckband involved, and stereo speakers are present in both earbuds. They carry an IP55 ingress protection rating, meaning they are resistant to both dust ingress and water splashing from any direction. Wingtips are not included, and the earbuds do not feature RGB lighting, a UV light, or any built-in display.
The Edifier NeoDots include both active noise cancellation (ANC) and passive noise reduction, providing two layers of isolation from ambient sound. Audio is handled by a 10 mm driver unit capable of reproducing a frequency range spanning from 20 Hz to 40,000 Hz, with a sound pressure level of 95 dB/mW. Spatial audio, Dolby Atmos, and Dirac Virtuo are not supported, and the driver does not use a neodymium magnet.
The Edifier NeoDots are equipped with a rechargeable battery that delivers 17 hours of playback under standard conditions, dropping to 12 hours when ANC is active, while the charging case extends the total available battery life to 39 hours. A full charge is reached in 1.5 hours, and wireless charging is supported alongside wired charging. A battery level indicator is present to help monitor remaining charge, though solar charging is not available.
The Edifier NeoDots connect wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.4 with a maximum range of 10 m, and support fast pairing for quicker device setup. Supported audio codecs include LDAC and AAC, while aptX in all its variants (including aptX Adaptive, aptX HD, aptX Low Latency, aptX Lossless, and aptX Voice), LDHC, and Bluetooth LE Audio are not available. Auracast and NFC pairing are also absent. Audio latency is rated at 80 ms, and the charging case uses a USB Type-C connection.
The Edifier NeoDots include an ambient sound mode and in-ear detection that can automatically pause playback when an earbud is removed. Multipoint connectivity supports simultaneous pairing with two devices, and the earbuds can function as a headset with a mute function available during calls. Controls are handled through a panel placed on the device itself, with no in-line control panel present, and voice prompts are included to assist with navigation. Fast charging is supported, and a travel bag is included in the box. Features not present include a find-device function, notification reading, a body temperature sensor, and a built-in camera remote shutter.
The Edifier NeoDots feature a six-microphone array with noise-canceling capability built in, helping to reduce background sound during calls and voice input. Microphone sensitivity is rated at -48dBV/Pa, reflecting the system's ability to pick up sound at a defined input level.
