The Edifier V80 uses an over-ear fit and weighs 480 g, with a closed-back design that houses stereo speakers. It can be folded for more compact storage and travel, and comes with a detachable, tangle-free cable for added convenience. The headphone does not carry any water resistance rating, and it is not designed for children.
The Edifier V80 includes both active noise cancellation and passive noise reduction, offering two layers of sound isolation. Its 40 mm driver unit covers a frequency range of 20 Hz to 40,000 Hz, with a sound pressure level of 91 dB/mW. The headphone does not use a neodymium magnet and does not support spatial audio.
The Edifier V80 is equipped with a built-in rechargeable battery that delivers up to 45 hours of playback, reducing to 26 hours when active noise cancellation is enabled. It charges via USB Type-C and includes a battery level indicator so users can keep track of remaining charge. The battery is not removable, and the headphone supports neither wireless charging nor solar power.
The Edifier V80 supports both wireless and wired connectivity, using Bluetooth 5.4 with a maximum range of 10 m and an audio latency of 60 ms. AAC is the only supported wireless audio codec, as the headphone does not include aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Low Latency, aptX Lossless, LDAC, LDHC, or Bluetooth LE Audio. Auracast, fast pairing, and NFC pairing are likewise absent from the feature set.
The Edifier V80 can be used as a headset, featuring a noise-canceling microphone and an on-device control panel for managing playback and calls. It supports multipoint connectivity with up to two devices simultaneously and includes an ambient sound mode for environmental awareness. There is no in-line control panel, no mute function, and no in/on-ear detection for automatic music pausing. The headphone comes with a one-year warranty.
