The Emotiv MN8 uses an in-ear fit and is built as a neckband earbud, meaning it connects via a cable rather than operating as a true wireless design. Wingtips are included to help keep the earbuds securely positioned during wear. The device features stereo speakers for dual-channel audio output, while extras such as RGB lighting, UV light, and a display are not part of its design.
The Emotiv MN8 handles noise management through passive noise reduction rather than active noise cancellation, relying on the physical fit of the earbuds to block ambient sound. Its frequency response spans the full standard audible range, from 20 Hz up to 20,000 Hz. Spatial audio, Dolby Atmos, and Dirac Virtuo are not supported, and the drivers do not use a neodymium magnet.
The Emotiv MN8 is equipped with a rechargeable battery rated at 6 hours of use, and a built-in battery level indicator lets the user monitor remaining charge at a glance. Charging is handled via a wired connection, as wireless charging is not supported, and there is no solar power option available.
The Emotiv MN8 supports wireless operation with a maximum Bluetooth range of 10 meters and uses USB Type-C for wired charging. Advanced audio codecs including LDAC, LDHC, AAC, and the full aptX family are not supported, nor is Bluetooth LE Audio or Auracast. Pairing conveniences such as fast pairing and NFC pairing are also absent from this model.
The Emotiv MN8 can function as a headset and includes a mute function, voice prompts, and a control panel placed on the device itself — though there is no in-line control panel on the cable. Fast charging is supported, which helps reduce downtime between uses. Features such as ambient sound mode, in/on-ear detection, notification reading, a find-device function, a temperature sensor, and a camera remote are not included, and no travel bag comes in the box.
The Emotiv MN8 is fitted with a single microphone, providing the necessary input for voice calls and headset use.
