The Epson EcoTank ET-2870 covers print, copy, and scan functions and is built around a single input tray with a 100-sheet capacity, complemented by an output tray that holds up to 30 sheets. The unit measures 375 mm wide, 179 mm deep, and 347 mm tall, with a total volume of around 23,292 cm³ and a weight of 4,100 g. A flatbed scanner is included for handling individual pages, but there is no automatic document feeder, and multi-feed detection is not available. The printer does not support ultrasonic multi-feed detection, and it comes with a one-year warranty.
The EcoTank ET-2870 is an inkjet printer — not a laser model — that prints in both colour and black at a resolution of 5760 x 1440 dpi. Black print speed is rated at 33 pages per minute, while colour output reaches 15 pages per minute, with a first copy out time of 10 seconds for black and 16 seconds for colour. Duplex printing is not supported, so double-sided output requires manual intervention, and copy density is not adjustable.
The ET-2870's scanner supports an optical resolution of 1200 x 2400 dpi and can output scanned documents directly to PDF. Auto scan mode and duplex scanning are not available, meaning each side of a document must be scanned individually and some degree of manual setup is required for each job.
The EcoTank ET-2870 connects wirelessly via Wi-Fi and supports AirPrint, Mopria, and Wi-Fi Direct printing, covering a range of mobile and desktop devices without requiring a shared network. Ethernet, Bluetooth, NFC, and an external memory slot are not available, and the printer is not compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant.
The ET-2870 includes a dedicated smartphone app for remote control and printing, but the printer itself does not feature a touchscreen or a page preview screen, keeping the physical interface relatively basic. Borderless printing, OCR, blank page skipping, and USB document synchronisation are not available, and there is no fax or answering machine functionality.
