The Epson EpiqVision Mini EF22 uses a laser light source rated for up to 20,000 hours in eco mode, drawing 105W during operation. It runs quietly at 22 dB under standard conditions, dropping to 18 dB in eco mode, which makes it well-suited for noise-sensitive environments. The unit measures 200 × 190 mm with a height of 110 mm, a total volume of 4180 cm³, and a weight of 3000 g, reflecting a compact and portable physical footprint. A dedicated smartphone app is available for added control convenience, and the projector is backed by a 2-year warranty.
The EF22 projects at 1080p output resolution with a brightness of 1000 ANSI lumens, covering a maximum projection size of 150″ from a minimum throw distance of 1.2 m, and offers a narrow zoom ratio of 1.03:1. Focus is handled exclusively via motorized control, as manual focus is not available. The projector supports HDR10 and HLG for dynamic range content, though HDR10+ and Dolby Vision are not supported. Color is rendered at an 8-bit depth, and the response time is 60.7 ms. It is also capable of displaying 3D content when used with compatible glasses.
The EF22 offers a wireless-friendly connectivity setup, supporting Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AirPlay, Chromecast built-in, and Miracast for flexible streaming and screen-mirroring options. On the wired side, it provides one HDMI port and one USB port, while there is no RJ45 Ethernet port, VGA connector, DVI connector, or S/PDIF audio output. The unit is also not DLNA-certified.
The EF22 comes equipped with built-in smart TV functionality, a remote control, and a sleep timer, making it a reasonably self-sufficient unit for everyday use. Audio is handled by built-in stereo speakers delivering 2 × 5W of output power, though there is no 3.5 mm headset jack for wired audio output. Lens placement is fixed, as neither vertical nor horizontal lens shift is available.
