The Gigabyte B650E Aorus Elite X AX Ice is an ATX motherboard measuring 305 x 244mm, built around the B650 chipset with a single AM5 CPU socket and no integrated CPU or integrated graphics. It supports overclocking and includes Wi-Fi 6E with backward compatibility to Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 5, and Wi-Fi 4, alongside Bluetooth 5.3, though aptX is not supported. The board features RGB lighting and an HDMI 2.1 output, and is backed by a five-year warranty. A dual BIOS is not present, and there is no quick CMOS reset functionality.
The board provides four DDR5 memory slots across two channels, supporting a maximum capacity of 192GB at a native speed of up to 5,200MHz and up to 8,000MHz when overclocked. ECC memory is not supported.

Six fan headers are available for cooling management, and a TPM connector is included for security module support. USB expansion is handled through two USB 3.2 Gen 1 headers and four USB 2.0 headers, providing additional front-panel and peripheral connectivity options.
The board features one PCIe 5.0 x16 slot for the primary graphics card, accompanied by two PCIe x1 slots for additional expansion cards. There are no PCIe 4.0, 3.0, or 2.0 x16 slots, and no PCIe x4, x8, or legacy PCI slots are present.
The board supports 7.1-channel audio through three analog audio connectors on the rear I/O. An S/PDIF output port is not included.
The board supports RAID 0, RAID 1, and RAID 10 configurations for flexible storage setup, while RAID 5 and RAID 0+1 are not supported.
