The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is a foldable device with a compact footprint of 155.2 mm in height and 150.2 mm in width, measuring just 5.1 mm in thickness when unfolded. It weighs 257 g and carries an IPX8 rating, meaning it is waterproof and can withstand submersion at depths of up to 1.5 m. Repairability has also been considered, as the device holds a French Repairability Index score of 7 out of 10.

The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold features an 8-inch OLED/AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 2152 x 2076 px and a pixel density of 373 ppi, delivering a smooth visual experience through a 120Hz refresh rate and a typical brightness of 1600 nits. It supports both HDR10 and HDR10+, and includes an Always-On Display mode, though it does not feature branded damage-resistant glass. As a foldable device, it also incorporates a secondary external screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2424px.

The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is driven by the Google Tensor G4 chipset, built on a 4 nm process with an 8-thread CPU configuration running at speeds of 1 x 3.1, 3 x 2.6, and 4 x 1.92 GHz using big.LITTLE and HMP technology, alongside a 6W TDP. It is paired with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM at 4200 MHz — the maximum supported — and 512GB of internal storage, while the ARM Mali-G715 MP7 GPU clocks at 940 MHz and supports DirectX 12, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2. The chipset includes integrated LTE and integrated graphics, and achieves Geekbench 6 scores of 1600 single-core and 4500 multi-core, with further architecture features including NX bit, TrustZone, 64-bit support, 8 MB of L2 cache, and 4 MB of L3 cache rounding out the platform.

The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is equipped with a triple rear camera system combining 48 MP, 10.8 MP, and 10.5 MP sensors at apertures of f/1.7, f/2.2, and f/3.05 respectively, backed by optical image stabilization and 5x optical zoom, with 4K video recording at 60 fps and slow-motion video support. Autofocus options include phase-detection, laser, and touch autofocus, as well as continuous autofocus during video recording, while manual controls extend to exposure, ISO, shutter speed, focus, and white balance, alongside burst mode, HDR, RAW capture, standard and 360-degree panoramas, and timelapse. Flash is handled by a dual-tone, two-LED setup — though there is no RGB flash — and the front camera offers a single 10 MP sensor at f/2.2 without a front-facing flash or a secondary lens.

The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold runs Android 14, delivered through direct OS vendor updates, and is free and open source. On the privacy side, it provides clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access controls, and the ability to block app tracking, though it does not include Mail Privacy Protection or cross-site tracking blocking. The interface supports dark mode, dynamic and manual theme customization, widgets, customizable notifications, a media picker, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, Live Text, and an extra dim mode, while games can be played during download and the system supports multiple user accounts, offline voice recognition, voice commands, and device tracking. Notable omissions include focus modes, Wi-Fi password sharing, app offloading, Quick Start, and the ability to function as a PC, and on-device machine learning is present alongside a battery health check tool and a child lock.

The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold houses a 4650 mAh rechargeable battery with a battery level indicator and support for both wired and wireless charging. Wired fast charging tops out at 30W, while wireless charging runs at 7.5W, though reverse wireless charging is not available. The battery is non-removable and no charger is included in the box.

The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold features stereo speakers and a triple microphone setup, but does not include a 3.5 mm headphone jack or a built-in radio. Bluetooth audio codec support is limited, with no aptX, aptX HD, or aptX Adaptive on board.

The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold supports 5G connectivity alongside Wi-Fi 4, 5, 6, 6E, and 7, and uses a combination of one physical SIM and one eSIM, with no external memory slot available. Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and a USB Type-C 3.2 port handle short-range and wired connectivity, while GPS and Galileo provide satellite navigation backed by a gyroscope, accelerometer, and compass for motion and orientation sensing. Security and biometrics are covered by a fingerprint scanner and 3D facial recognition, and the device also includes emergency SOS via satellite. A barometer, infrared sensor, iris scanner, heart rate monitor, and crash detection are absent, and no stylus is included in the box.

The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold includes a video light for recording in low-light conditions, while its display is flat rather than curved and does not use sapphire glass.
