The Haylou S30 uses an over-ear fit and weighs 298 g, making it a moderately sized closed-back headphone without an open-back design. It can be folded for easier transport, though no travel bag is included. The headphone comes with a 1.2 m detachable, tangle-free cable and features stereo speakers for standard two-channel audio output. It is not designed for kids, and it carries no water resistance rating, so exposure to moisture is not recommended.
The Haylou S30 is equipped with 40 mm drivers backed by neodymium magnets, covering a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz at an impedance of 32 Ohms. It supports active noise cancellation (ANC) as well as passive noise reduction, providing two distinct methods of minimizing unwanted ambient sound. Spatial audio is also supported, adding a dimensional quality to compatible audio content.
The Haylou S30 houses a built-in, non-removable 600 mAh rechargeable battery that delivers up to 80 hours of playback, or 50 hours when active noise cancellation is enabled. It charges fully in 2.5 hours via USB Type-C and includes a battery level indicator so users can monitor remaining charge at a glance. Wireless charging and solar power are not supported.
The Haylou S30 supports both wireless and wired connectivity, with wireless handled via Bluetooth 5.4 at a maximum range of 10 m and an audio latency of 60 ms. Among audio codecs, LDAC and AAC are supported, while aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Low Latency, aptX Lossless, and LDHC are not. Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast are also absent, and the headphone does not offer fast pairing or NFC-based pairing.
The Haylou S30 can be used as a headset and features a five-microphone setup with noise-canceling capability, managed through a control panel located on the headphone itself rather than an in-line cable remote. It supports multipoint connectivity for up to two devices simultaneously and includes an ambient sound mode that allows environmental audio to pass through when needed. In/on-ear detection and a mute function are not available on this model.
The Haylou S30 uses a hyper-cardioid microphone pattern, which focuses pickup in a narrow forward direction to help reduce off-axis noise during calls and recordings. Notification readout is not supported.
