Honor X7b 5G

The Honor X7b 5G has a standard candy-bar form factor — it does not fold and carries no rugged certification. It measures 166.7 mm tall, 76.5 mm wide, and 8.2 mm thick, with a total volume of 104.57 cm³. Weighing 199 g, it sits on the heavier side for a handheld device, and it offers no water resistance rating of any kind.

The Honor X7b 5G uses an IPS LCD touchscreen measuring 6.8″ with a resolution of 1080 x 2412 px and a pixel density of 389 ppi, delivering reasonably sharp detail across its large surface. The panel refreshes at 90Hz, offering smoother motion than a standard 60Hz screen. It does not feature branded damage-resistant glass, Always-On Display functionality, or support for HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, and there is no secondary screen.

The Honor X7b 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6020 chipset, built on a 7 nm process with an octa-core CPU configuration of 2 x 2.2 GHz and 6 x 2 GHz using big.LITTLE technology across 8 threads, with 64-bit support and integrated LTE. Graphics are handled by a Mali G57 MP2 GPU clocked at 950 MHz, and the SoC supports integrated graphics alongside multithreading. The device comes with 8GB of DDR4 RAM running at 2133 MHz and a maximum memory bandwidth of 17.07 GB/s, with the platform supporting up to 16GB total memory. Storage stands at 256GB internally, while the cache hierarchy consists of 512 KB L1, 1 MB L2, and 2 MB L3 cache.

The rear camera system on the Honor X7b 5G is a triple-lens setup led by a 108 MP main sensor at f/1.8, accompanied by two 2 MP lenses each at f/2.4, all using a CMOS sensor without back-side illumination. Autofocus options include phase-detection and touch autofocus for stills as well as continuous autofocus during video, though laser autofocus is absent. Video recording tops out at 1080p at 30 fps with slow-motion support, while the single LED flash does not offer dual-tone or RGB output. Manual controls cover exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, but manual shutter speed and RAW capture are not available. Additional shooting modes include HDR, burst, panorama, and timelapse, while 360° panorama and 3D recording are not supported. The 8 MP front camera at f/2.0 is a single-lens unit positioned conventionally — not under the display — and it has no front-facing flash.

The Honor X7b 5G runs Android 13 and includes a broad set of privacy controls, covering clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access management, and the ability to block app tracking — though cross-site tracking blocking and Mail Privacy Protection are not present. On the usability side, it supports dark mode, dynamic and manual theme customization, an extra dim mode, customizable notifications, a media picker, full-page screenshots, split-screen multitasking, picture-in-picture, sharing intents, widgets, a child lock, and multi-user support. It can play games while they download and offers both voice commands and offline voice recognition, along with on-device machine learning and device position tracking. However, it does not support Wi-Fi password sharing, focus modes, app offloading, a battery health check, Quick Start, or PC mode, and it does not receive direct OS updates from the vendor.

The Honor X7b 5G is equipped with a 6000 mAh rechargeable battery that supports 35W fast charging, and a charger is included in the box. A battery level indicator is present for monitoring charge status. The battery is not removable, and wireless charging is not supported.

The Honor X7b 5G covers the audio basics with a 3.5 mm headphone jack and stereo speakers for wired listening and built-in playback. On the wireless side, it supports aptX for Bluetooth audio, though aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC are all absent. There is no built-in radio.

The Honor X7b 5G supports 5G connectivity with a cellular module, dual SIM slots, and Wi-Fi covering both Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). Bluetooth 5.1 is on board, while NFC is absent. The device connects via USB Type-C at USB 2.0 speeds and includes an external memory slot for storage expansion, but there is no HDMI output. Maximum download and upload speeds reach 2770 Mbits/s and 1250 Mbits/s respectively. For navigation, it includes GPS with Galileo support and a digital compass, and sensors cover an accelerometer and fingerprint scanner, though a gyroscope, barometer, infrared sensor, heart rate monitor, and motion or optical tracking are all absent. Security relies on the fingerprint scanner only — 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are not included — and there is no stylus, built-in projector, ANT+ support, DLNA certification, crash detection, or emergency SOS via satellite.

The Honor X7b 5G includes a video light for illumination during video recording. Its display is flat rather than curved, and it uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel.
