Honor X9c Smart

The Honor X9c Smart has a non-folding, non-rugged build with a slim profile of 7.9 mm and a height of 166 mm, making it a fairly tall handset at 75.8 mm wide, with a total volume of approximately 99.40 cm³. It tips the scales at 193 g, which is a moderate weight for a device of this size. The phone also carries a degree of water resistance, offering some protection against moisture in everyday use.

The Honor X9c Smart features a 6.8-inch IPS LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 1080 x 2412 px and a pixel density of 389 ppi, delivering a sharp and detailed image across its large panel. The display runs at a 120Hz refresh rate, contributing to smoother scrolling and more fluid on-screen motion. It does not support HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, and there is no Always-On Display mode, no secondary screen, and no branded damage-resistant glass covering the panel.

The Honor X9c Smart is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7025 chipset, built on a 6 nm process with a CPU configuration of 2 x 2.5 GHz and 6 x 2 GHz cores using big.LITTLE architecture and Heterogeneous Multi-Processing, paired with 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM running at 2750 MHz across 4 memory channels, delivering a maximum memory bandwidth of 51.2 GB/s and supporting up to 16 GB of addressable memory. The integrated IMG BXM-8-256 GPU clocks at 900 MHz, features 18 shading units, and supports DirectX 12 and OpenCL 2.0. The chipset also includes integrated LTE, NX bit support, 64-bit processing, and multithreading capabilities. Internal storage stands at 256 GB, and benchmark scores come in at 884 single-core and 2291 multi-core on Geekbench 6, alongside 690 single-core and 1890 multi-core on Geekbench 5.

The Honor X9c Smart features a dual rear camera system combining a 108 MP primary lens at f/2.2 and a 5 MP secondary lens at f/1.8, both using a CMOS sensor without back-illumination or optical image stabilization. The main camera supports phase-detection autofocus for stills, continuous autofocus during video recording, and touch autofocus, while manual controls cover exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, though manual shutter speed is not available. Video recording tops out at 1080p at 30 fps, with no HDR10 or Dolby Vision recording support, and additional shooting modes include slow-motion, burst, panorama, timelapse, and built-in HDR; optical zoom is not present, and the camera does not shoot in RAW format. A single LED flash is included at the rear, while laser autofocus, dual-tone flash, and RGB flash are absent. On the front, a 16 MP single-lens camera sits at f/2.5, without a front flash or under-display placement, and the device does not offer 360-degree panorama or 3D photo and video capabilities.

The Honor X9c Smart runs Android 14 and includes a broad set of privacy controls, covering clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access management, and the ability to block app tracking, though cross-site tracking blocking and Mail Privacy Protection are not present. The software supports dark mode, dynamic theming, theme customization, widgets, an extra dim mode, customizable notifications, notification permissions, and a media picker, while focus modes, app offloading, Wi-Fi password sharing, and Quick Start are not available. Productivity features include split-screen multitasking, picture-in-picture mode, full-page screenshots, sharing intents, Live Text, and the ability to play games while they download, though the device cannot be used as a PC. Additional capabilities include on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, phone tracking, multi-user support, a child lock, a battery health check, and the platform is free and open source; direct OS updates from the vendor are not supported.

The Honor X9c Smart is equipped with a 5800 mAh rechargeable, non-removable battery that supports 35W wired fast charging, with a charger included in the box. Wireless charging is not available. The device features a battery level indicator, giving users a clear read on remaining charge at a glance.

The Honor X9c Smart does not include a 3.5 mm headphone jack, stereo speakers, or a built-in radio. On the wireless audio side, it supports aptX and aptX HD for higher-quality Bluetooth audio transmission, while aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC are not available.

The Honor X9c Smart supports 5G connectivity with a maximum download speed of 2770 MBits/s, alongside Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC. It accommodates two SIM cards and connects via USB Type-C with USB 2.0. There is no external memory slot, HDMI output, DLNA certification, or ANT+ support. For navigation and sensing, the device includes GPS with Galileo support, a gyroscope, accelerometer, and compass, while a barometer, infrared sensor, heart rate monitor, and motion or optical tracking are absent. Security is handled through a fingerprint scanner, while 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are not present. The device does not include a stylus, built-in projector, crash detection, or emergency SOS via satellite.

The Honor X9c Smart includes a video light for illumination during video recording, while its display is flat rather than curved and uses neither sapphire glass nor e-paper technology.
