Hotwav T7 Pro

The Hotwav T7 Pro has a non-folding, non-rugged form factor measuring 174.6 mm tall, 82.8 mm wide, and 12.8 mm thick, with a total volume of 185.048064 cm³ and a weight of 292 g. Despite lacking a hardened rugged build, it carries an IP68 ingress protection rating, which classifies it as waterproof against dust and water intrusion.

The Hotwav T7 Pro features a 6.6″ IPS LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 1080 x 2460 pixels and a pixel density of 407 ppi, offering a sharp and detailed image. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 3, providing a degree of resistance against everyday scratches and minor impacts. It does not support HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, and there is no Always-On Display mode or secondary screen present.

The Hotwav T7 Pro is powered by the MediaTek MT8788 chipset, built on a 12 nm process with an octa-core CPU running at 8 x 2 GHz and a TDP of 5W, paired with 6 GB of DDR4 RAM and 256 GB of internal storage expandable up to 2000 GB. The chip does not use big.LITTLE technology and integrates an LTE modem alongside a Mali G72 MP3 GPU clocked at 900 MHz with 48 shading units, supporting DirectX 12 and OpenGL ES 3.2. Benchmark results place the device at 241,240 on AnTuTu, 1,306 and 284 on Geekbench 5 multi-core and single-core respectively, and 778 on PassMark. The maximum supported memory ceiling sits at 8 GB, and the platform is fully 64-bit compatible.

The Hotwav T7 Pro sports a multi-lens rear camera system led by a 64 MP CMOS sensor, capable of recording video at 1080p 30 fps with continuous autofocus, though optical image stabilization is not available and there is no optical zoom. Autofocus options include phase-detection and touch autofocus, while manual controls cover exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance; manual shutter speed, however, is not supported. The rear camera also supports HDR mode, burst shooting, slow-motion video, and in-camera panoramas, but does not shoot in RAW format, lacks a BSI sensor, and has no laser autofocus, 360-degree panorama, or 3D recording capability. A single LED flash is present on the back, with no dual-tone or RGB flash option, and the front camera offers 8 MP resolution as a single-lens unit without its own flash, HDR10 and Dolby Vision recording are absent, and the front camera is not positioned under the display.

The Hotwav T7 Pro runs Android 13, a free and open-source platform that supports multi-user access, on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, and device position tracking. On the privacy side, it offers clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access controls, and the ability to block app tracking, though cross-site tracking blocking, Mail Privacy Protection, and Wi-Fi password sharing are absent. The interface includes dark mode, dynamic theming, theme customization, an extra dim mode, customizable notifications, notification permission controls, a media picker, Live Text, sharing intents, widgets, and a child lock, while focus modes, app offloading, and Quick Start are not available. Productivity-oriented features cover split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page scrolling screenshots, and the ability to play games while they download, though the device cannot be used as a PC. Direct OS updates from the vendor are not provided, and there is no battery health check tool.

The Hotwav T7 Pro is equipped with a 6280 mAh rechargeable battery that supports 15W fast charging, and a battery level indicator is present to keep track of remaining charge. The battery is non-removable and does not support wireless charging.

The Hotwav T7 Pro has a limited audio feature set, lacking a 3.5 mm headphone jack and stereo speakers. On the wireless audio side, none of the higher-quality Bluetooth codecs are supported, including aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, or LDAC. There is also no built-in radio receiver.

The Hotwav T7 Pro includes a cellular module with dual SIM support and connects wirelessly via Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), Bluetooth 5.0, and NFC, though 5G is not supported. The USB Type-C port runs on USB 2.0, and an external memory slot is available for storage expansion. For navigation, the device supports GPS and Galileo alongside a compass and accelerometer, but lacks a gyroscope, barometer, and motion or optical tracking. Biometric security is handled by a fingerprint scanner, while 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are absent, and no stylus is included. Satellite emergency SOS, crash detection, ANT+, a heart rate monitor, infrared sensor, HDMI output, DLNA certification, and a built-in projector are all unavailable.

The Hotwav T7 Pro includes a video light for use during video recording, while the display is flat rather than curved and uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel.
