The Huawei Mate 70 RS Ultimate features a 6.9″ OLED/AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 1316 x 2832 px and a pixel density of 453 ppi, delivering a sharp visual output. The display runs at a 120 Hz refresh rate with a 300 Hz touch sampling rate for responsive input handling. It does not support HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, lacks an Always-On Display mode, and does not include branded damage-resistant glass or a secondary screen.

The Huawei Mate 70 RS Ultimate is powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 9020 chipset, built on a 7 nm process with a 12-thread CPU configuration running at speeds of 2 x 2.5, 6 x 2.15, and 4 x 1.6 GHz using big.LITTLE technology, and a thermal design power of 6 W. Graphics are handled by the Maleoon 920 GPU clocked at 840 MHz, with integrated graphics support, DirectX 12, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2.0 compatibility. The device pairs 16 GB of RAM running at 2750 MHz and a maximum memory bandwidth of 44 GB/s with 1024 GB of internal storage, and it supports 64-bit processing along with integrated LTE on the SoC.

The rear camera system on the Huawei Mate 70 RS Ultimate consists of three lenses with resolutions of 50, 12, and 48 MP and apertures of f/1.4, f/2.1, and f/2.2, supported by a CMOS sensor, optical image stabilization, 5x optical zoom, and a dual-tone LED flash with two LEDs. Focusing options include laser autofocus, phase-detection autofocus, touch autofocus, and continuous autofocus during video recording, while manual controls cover exposure, ISO, shutter speed, white balance, and focus. The camera also supports RAW capture, HDR mode, burst mode, slow-motion video, timelapse, and in-camera panoramas, though 360-degree panorama shooting, HDR10 recording, Dolby Vision recording, and 3D photo or video capture are not available. The 13 MP front camera has an aperture of f/2.4 and is a single-lens setup without an LED flash or under-display placement, and it does not support HDR10 or Dolby Vision recording either.

The operating system on the Huawei Mate 70 RS Ultimate includes a range of usability and privacy-oriented features, among them camera and microphone privacy controls, dark mode, customizable notifications, widgets, voice commands, sharing intents, and a child lock. It supports split-screen multitasking, device tracking, battery health checks, and multi-user accounts, making it adaptable for shared or managed use. Direct OS updates from the vendor are not available, and the device cannot be used as a PC.

The Huawei Mate 70 RS Ultimate houses a 5700 mAh rechargeable battery with a battery level indicator and comes supplied with a charger in the box. Wired fast charging is supported at 100 W, while wireless charging operates at 80 W, and the device also offers reverse wireless charging at 20 W for topping up other devices. The battery is not removable.

The Huawei Mate 70 RS Ultimate includes stereo speakers but omits a 3.5 mm headphone jack and does not feature a built-in radio. On the wireless audio side, none of the advanced Bluetooth codec options are supported, including aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, or LDAC.

The Huawei Mate 70 RS Ultimate supports 5G cellular connectivity alongside a dual SIM configuration, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and Wi-Fi 4, 5, 6, and 7, covering a broad range of wireless standards. Wired connectivity is handled via a USB Type-C port running USB 3.1, though there is no HDMI output and no external memory slot. Security and authentication are covered by a fingerprint scanner and 3D facial recognition, while the device also includes emergency SOS via satellite. The sensor suite encompasses a gyroscope, accelerometer, compass, barometer, infrared sensor, and GPS with Galileo support, but the device does not include a heart rate monitor, iris scanner, ANT+ support, crash detection, motion tracking, optical tracking, DLNA certification, or a built-in projector, and no stylus is included.

The Huawei Mate 70 RS Ultimate includes a video light for use during video recording, while its display is flat rather than curved and uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel.
