Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design

The Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design is a foldable device measuring 156.7mm tall, 219mm wide, and just 3.6mm thick, with a total volume of 123.54cm³ and a weight of 298g. It does not feature a rugged build and carries no water resistance rating. Despite its slim profile, the chassis supports folding, making it one of the defining structural characteristics of this form factor.

The primary display is a touchscreen OLED/AMOLED panel measuring 10.2″ with a resolution of 3184 x 2232px and a pixel density of 381 ppi, supported by a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. A secondary touchscreen is also present, running at a resolution of 2048 x 2232px. The display does not include branded damage-resistant glass, and there is no support for HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, or an Always-On Display mode.

The Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design is powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 9010 chipset, built on a 7nm process with a thermal design power of 6W and an eight-core CPU configuration running at 1 x 2.3, 4 x 2.18, and 3 x 1.55 GHz with a turbo frequency of 3.3GHz. The SoC uses big.LITTLE technology, supports 64-bit processing, integrates LTE, and includes ARM TrustZone for hardware-level security. Graphics are handled by the Mali-G57 GPU with integrated graphics, DirectX 12, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2 support. The device ships with 16GB of RAM running at 2750 MHz and a maximum memory bandwidth of 44 GB/s, alongside 1024GB of internal storage; ECC memory is not supported. Cache configuration consists of 64KB L1, 0.512MB L2 (0.256MB per core), and 4MB L3 (2MB per core).

The main camera system uses three lenses — a 50MP (f/1.4), 12MP (f/3.4), and 12MP (f/2.2) configuration — with a CMOS sensor, optical image stabilization, 5.5x optical zoom, and two flash LEDs, though the flash is not dual-tone or RGB. Autofocus options include laser, phase-detection, touch, and continuous autofocus during video recording, while manual controls cover exposure, ISO, shutter speed, white balance, and focus. Video recording reaches 4K at 60fps, with slow-motion and timelapse modes also available; HDR10 and Dolby Vision recording are not supported. The camera supports burst mode and in-camera panoramas, but does not shoot 360-degree panoramas or capture 3D content. The front camera is an 8MP single-lens unit with an f/2.2 aperture and no front-facing flash, and it is not positioned under the display.

The operating system includes a broad set of usability and privacy features, among them dark mode, customizable notifications, widgets, voice commands, sharing intents, split-screen multitasking, and multi-user support. A child lock is available for restricted access, and device tracking is built in for locating the phone remotely. Privacy-conscious users will find camera and microphone access controls, along with a battery health check tool. Direct OS updates from the vendor are not supported, and the device cannot function as a PC.

The device houses a rechargeable 5600 mAh battery with a built-in level indicator, and it is not user-removable. Wired fast charging is supported at 66W, while wireless charging runs at 50W. Reverse wireless charging is also available at 7.5W, allowing the device to charge other compatible accessories.

The device features stereo speakers but omits a 3.5mm headphone jack and does not include a built-in radio. On the wireless audio side, none of the high-resolution or enhanced Bluetooth codecs — aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, or LDAC — are supported.

The device supports 5G cellular connectivity and accommodates two SIM cards, with Wi-Fi covering 802.11n, 802.11ac, and 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) standards. Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC are both present, while the USB Type-C port runs on USB 3.1; there is no HDMI output, no external memory slot, and no DLNA certification. Security and biometrics are handled by a fingerprint scanner, though 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are absent. Sensors on board include a gyroscope, accelerometer, compass, barometer, infrared sensor, and GPS with Galileo support, while motion tracking, optical tracking, ANT+, and a heart rate monitor are not included. The device does not offer emergency SOS via satellite, crash detection, a built-in projector, or a stylus.

Among the remaining notable attributes, the device includes a video light and a tertiary screen measuring 6.4″ at a resolution of 1008 x 2232px. The displays are flat rather than curved, and neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel is present.
