It carries an IP68 ingress protection rating, confirming full waterproof capability under the conditions that standard entails.

The Huawei Nova 15 Ultra uses an OLED/AMOLED touchscreen measuring 6.81″ with a resolution of 1320 x 2856 px and a pixel density of 460 ppi, delivering a sharp and vivid visual experience. The display refreshes at 120 Hz with a touch sampling rate of 300 Hz, and it supports HDR10 as well as Always-On Display functionality, though HDR10+ and Dolby Vision are not supported. It is fitted with branded damage-resistant glass and has no secondary screen.

The Huawei Nova 15 Ultra is driven by the HiSilicon Kirin 9000 chipset, built on a 5 nm process with an octa-core CPU arranged in a big.LITTLE configuration running at 1 × 3.13, 3 × 2.54, and 4 × 2.05 GHz, with a turbo clock of 3.3 GHz and a TDP of 6 W. Graphics are handled by the integrated Mali-G57 GPU, which supports DirectX 12, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2. The SoC includes integrated LTE, TrustZone security, and 64-bit support, while the cache hierarchy consists of 64 KB L1, 0.512 MB L2 (0.256 MB/core), and 4 MB L3 (2 MB/core). The device pairs this processor with 12 GB of RAM running at 2750 MHz and a maximum memory bandwidth of 44 GB/s, alongside 1024 GB of internal storage; ECC memory is not supported.

The Huawei Nova 15 Ultra features a triple rear camera system with sensors at 50 MP (f/1.4), 50 MP (f/2.2), and 13 MP (f/2.2), supported by optical image stabilization, 3.7x optical zoom, and a CMOS sensor without back-illumination. Autofocus options include laser, phase-detection, touch, and continuous autofocus during video, while manual controls extend to exposure, ISO, shutter speed, white balance, and focus, with RAW capture also available. Video recording reaches 2160p at 30 fps with slow-motion support, though HDR10 and Dolby Vision recording are not available. The rear flash uses two LED units in a single tone rather than dual-tone, and there is no RGB flash. Additional shooting modes include burst, panorama, and timelapse, while 360° panorama and 3D capture are not supported. On the front, a single 50 MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture handles selfies — it has no LED flash, no secondary lens, and is positioned in the bezel rather than under the display.

The operating system on the Huawei Nova 15 Ultra includes a broad set of usability and privacy features, among them dark mode, customizable notifications, widgets, voice commands, sharing intents, split-screen multitasking, and multi-user support. Security and family-oriented options are covered through camera and microphone privacy controls, a child lock, and device tracking. A battery health check tool is also built in. Notably, the device does not receive direct OS updates from the vendor and cannot be used as a PC.

The Huawei Nova 15 Ultra is equipped with a 6500 mAh rechargeable, non-removable battery with a visible level indicator and a charger included in the box. Wired fast charging tops out at 100 W, while wireless charging is supported at 50 W, and the device can also act as a wireless charger for other devices through reverse wireless charging at 7.5 W.

The Huawei Nova 15 Ultra has stereo speakers and supports both aptX and LDAC for higher-quality Bluetooth audio transmission, though aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, and aptX Lossless are not available. There is no 3.5 mm headphone jack and no built-in radio.

The Huawei Nova 15 Ultra supports 5G connectivity and accommodates two SIM cards, while wireless networking spans Wi-Fi 4, 5, 6, and 7. Bluetooth 6 and NFC are both present, and the USB Type-C port operates at USB 2.0 speed; there is no HDMI output and no external memory slot. Location is handled via GPS with Galileo support, and onboard sensors include a gyroscope, accelerometer, compass, and infrared sensor, though there is no barometer, heart rate monitor, or motion/optical tracking. Biometric security is covered by a fingerprint scanner, while 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are absent. ANT+, DLNA certification, satellite SOS, crash detection, and a built-in projector are likewise not featured, and no stylus is included.

The Huawei Nova 15 Ultra includes a video light for recording in low-light conditions. The display is flat rather than curved, uses no sapphire glass, and is not an e-paper panel.
