Huawei Pocket 2

The Huawei Pocket 2 features a foldable design that measures 170 mm in height and 75.5 mm in width, with a slim 7.3 mm thickness and a total volume of 93.6955 cm³. It weighs 202 g and carries an IPX8 rating, meaning it is waterproof against submersion in water. The device does not have a rugged build, but its ingress protection certification still provides a solid level of water resistance for everyday use.

The Huawei Pocket 2 uses an OLED/AMOLED touchscreen measuring 6.94″ with a resolution of 1136 x 2690 px and a pixel density of 420 ppi, paired with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The display supports Always-On functionality but does not include branded damage-resistant glass, and lacks support for HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision. A secondary screen is also present, offering a resolution of 340 x 340px for at-a-glance information when the device is folded.

The Huawei Pocket 2 is powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 9000S chipset, built on a 5 nm process with an 8-thread CPU using big.LITTLE technology across three clock speed clusters — 1 x 2.62 GHz, 3 x 2.15 GHz, and 4 x 1.53 GHz — reaching a turbo frequency of 3.3GHz and operating within a 6W TDP envelope. Graphics are handled by an integrated Mali-G57 GPU with support for DirectX 12, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2, while memory bandwidth reaches up to 44 GB/s. The device comes with 16GB of RAM running at 2750 MHz and 1024GB of internal storage, with external memory expandable up to 512GB; it supports 64-bit processing and ARM TrustZone security, but does not support ECC memory. Cache is organized as 64 KB L1, 0.512 MB L2 (0.256 MB/core), and 4 MB L3 (2 MB/core), and the SoC includes integrated LTE.

The Huawei Pocket 2 features a quad-lens rear camera system with sensors at 50, 8, 12, and 2 MP and corresponding apertures of f/1.6, f/2.2, f/2.4, and f/2, supported by optical image stabilization, a CMOS sensor, and a combination of laser autofocus, phase-detection autofocus, and touch autofocus. Manual controls cover exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, while manual shutter speed is not available; the camera also supports in-camera panoramas, timelapse, and 3x optical zoom, but cannot shoot in RAW format or capture 360-degree panoramas. A single LED flash is present on the rear — not dual-tone or RGB — and there is no front-facing flash. The 10.7 MP front camera has an aperture of f/2.2 and is a single-lens setup positioned conventionally, without an under-display placement.

The Huawei Pocket 2 offers a range of software features oriented around usability and control, including dark mode, customizable notifications, widgets, voice commands, sharing intents, and split-screen multitasking. It supports multiple user accounts, a child lock, phone tracking, and a battery health check tool, while camera and microphone privacy options give users added control over hardware access. The device does not receive direct OS updates from the vendor and cannot be used as a PC, but its overall feature set covers the core software capabilities expected from a modern smartphone.

The Huawei Pocket 2 houses a rechargeable 4520 mAh battery with a built-in level indicator and a non-removable design. It supports 66W wired fast charging and comes with a charger included in the box, while wireless charging is available at up to 40W. The device also offers reverse wireless charging at 5W, allowing it to share power with other compatible devices.

The Huawei Pocket 2 includes stereo speakers and supports LDAC for high-quality Bluetooth audio transmission, but does not feature a 3.5 mm headphone jack or a built-in radio. Wireless audio codec support is limited to LDAC, as aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, and aptX Lossless are all absent.

The Huawei Pocket 2 supports dual SIM cards and connects via Wi-Fi 4, Wi-Fi 5, and Wi-Fi 6, alongside Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and GPS with Galileo satellite navigation. It uses a USB Type-C port running USB 2.0 and includes an external memory slot, a fingerprint scanner, and emergency SOS via satellite, though it does not support 5G, crash detection, DLNA, ANT+, HDMI output, or infrared. A stylus is not included.

The Huawei Pocket 2 includes a video light for illumination during video recording, while its display is flat rather than curved and uses neither sapphire glass nor e-paper technology.
