Huawei Pura 70 Ultra

The Huawei Pura 70 Ultra has a non-folding, standard-form design measuring 162.6 mm tall, 75.1 mm wide, and 8.4 mm thick, with a total volume of approximately 102.57 cm³ and a weight of 226 g. It carries an IP68 ingress protection rating, classifying it as waterproof against dust and water intrusion. The device does not feature a rugged build, so while its sealed, water-resistant construction offers meaningful everyday protection, it is not designed to meet dedicated rugged-device standards.

The Huawei Pura 70 Ultra uses an OLED/AMOLED touchscreen measuring 6.8 inches with a resolution of 1260 x 2844 px and a pixel density of 460 ppi, delivering a sharp and detailed image across its large panel. The display runs at a 120Hz refresh rate with a 300Hz touch sampling rate for responsive interaction, and reaches a typical brightness of 2500 nits, making it well-suited for use in bright environments. An always-on display mode is supported, allowing persistent information to be shown without fully waking the screen. The panel does not carry branded damage-resistant glass and does not support HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, nor does the device include a secondary screen.

The Huawei Pura 70 Ultra is powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 9010 chipset, built on a 7 nm process with an octa-core CPU configuration running at 1 x 2.3, 4 x 2.18, and 3 x 1.55 GHz with a turbo clock of 3.3 GHz, and a thermal design power of 6W. The SoC uses big.LITTLE technology, supports 64-bit processing, integrates LTE, and pairs with a Mali-G57 GPU that is compatible with DirectX 12, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2. The device comes with 16GB of RAM running at 2750 MHz and 1024GB of internal storage, with a maximum memory bandwidth of 44 GB/s; ECC memory is not supported. Cache architecture includes 64 KB L1, 0.512 MB L2 total (0.256 MB per core), and 4 MB L3 total (2 MB per core). In benchmark testing, it scores 958,196 on AnTuTu and 10,560 on PCMark Work 3.0 performance, while the PCMark Work 3.0 battery test records a result of 1,107 minutes. TrustZone security support is also present on the chipset.

The Huawei Pura 70 Ultra features a multi-lens rear camera system with three sensors rated at 50, 50, and 40 megapixels, apertures of f/1.6, f/2.1, and f/2.2, a large 13.2 x 8.8 mm sensor size, and a pixel size of 1.6 µm on the main lens. The rear setup uses a CMOS sensor, supports optical image stabilization, 3.5x optical zoom, and handles autofocus through a combination of phase-detection, laser, and touch autofocus methods, including continuous autofocus during video recording. Video capture reaches up to 2160p at 30 fps, with support for slow-motion recording, though HDR10 and Dolby Vision recording are not available. Two flash LEDs are present, while a dual-tone LED flash and RGB flash are absent, and the front camera does not have its own flash. Manual controls cover exposure, ISO, focus, shutter speed, and white balance, and the camera also supports RAW shooting, burst mode, in-camera panoramas, timelapse, and HDR mode; 360-degree panorama and 3D capture are not supported. The DxOMark Mobile score stands at 163. On the front, a single-lens 13MP camera with an f/2.4 aperture is included, positioned above the display rather than under it, and it does not have a multi-lens arrangement.

The operating system on the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra includes a range of user-facing and privacy-oriented features, among them camera and microphone privacy controls, theme customization, dark mode, customizable notifications, and widget support. It functions as a multi-user system with a child lock option, voice commands, sharing intents, split-screen multitasking, and device position tracking. Battery health monitoring is also built in. On the other hand, the device does not receive direct OS updates from the vendor, does not support AirPlay, and cannot be used as a PC.

The Huawei Pura 70 Ultra houses a 5200 mAh rechargeable battery with a battery level indicator and supports 100W wired fast charging, with a charger included in the box. Wireless charging is available at 80W, and the device also offers reverse wireless charging at 20W, allowing it to share power with other devices. The battery is not removable.

The Huawei Pura 70 Ultra is equipped with stereo speakers and supports LDAC for high-quality Bluetooth audio transmission. It does not include a 3.5 mm headphone jack, nor does it support aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, or aptX Lossless codecs. A built-in radio is also absent.

The Huawei Pura 70 Ultra supports 5G cellular connectivity alongside dual SIM capability, Wi-Fi 4, 5, and 6 (802.11n/ac/ax), and Bluetooth 5.2. It uses a USB Type-C port running USB 3.1 and includes NFC, while external memory expansion is not available. Emergency SOS via satellite is supported, though crash detection is absent. Sensors on board include a gyroscope, accelerometer, compass, infrared sensor, and GPS with Galileo support; a barometer, heart rate monitor, and ANT+ are not present. Security features cover a fingerprint scanner, but 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are not included. HDMI output, DLNA certification, motion tracking, optical tracking, and a built-in projector are all absent, and no stylus is included in the box.

The Huawei Pura 70 Ultra includes a video light for use during video recording. The display is flat rather than curved and does not use sapphire glass or e-paper technology.
