Huawei Watch GT 5 Pro

The Huawei Watch GT 5 Pro features a 1.43″ OLED/AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 466 x 466 px and a pixel density of 326 ppi, protected by sapphire glass and supporting an always-on display mode. The case measures 46.3 x 46.3 mm with a thickness of 10.9 mm and a weight of 53 g, while the 22 mm watch band is replaceable. It does not use branded damage-resistant glass such as Gorilla Glass, and is not designed for kids. On the durability side, the watch carries a 5 ATM rating and an IP69 ingress protection rating, with a waterproof depth of 50 m, and it operates reliably across temperatures ranging from -20 °C to 45 °C.

The watch includes a comprehensive sensor suite covering the core bases of health and navigation: a heart rate monitor, pulse oximeter for blood oxygenation tracking, and a body temperature sensor handle the biometric side, while an accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, and barometer cover motion and environmental data. GPS is built in for location tracking, rounding out a well-equipped hardware package. A cadence sensor and perspiration monitor are not included.

The watch covers a broad range of everyday and sport-specific activity tracking, logging steps, distance, pace, elevation, and calorie intake alongside automatic activity detection and exercise tagging. Sleep tracking is supported with full sleep reports, and a route tracker records movement paths during workouts. Notably, the watch is designed for both diving and golf, extending its usefulness beyond standard fitness scenarios. A multi-sport mode is not available, however.

The watch connects to both iOS and Android devices via Bluetooth 5.2 and includes NFC for short-range interactions. Galileo satellite support is present for improved location accuracy. It does not have a cellular module, does not support Wi-Fi or ANT+, meaning it relies on a paired phone for network-dependent functions.

Powered by a 524 mAh rechargeable battery, the watch delivers up to 14 days of battery life under typical use, while training mode reduces that to 8 hours. It charges wirelessly and reaches a full charge in approximately 1 hour. The battery is not removable, and there is no solar charging capability.

The watch offers a thorough set of health-focused features, including ECG technology, HRV tracking, VO2 max measurement, resting heart rate monitoring, and alerts for fast, slow, or irregular heart rate — though fall detection is not available. On the practical side, it supports wrist notifications, call control, the ability to answer calls directly from the wrist using its single microphone, voice commands, a phone finder function, silent alarm, vibrating alerts, and a stopwatch; a smart alarm is not included. It also carries 32 GB of internal storage, a built-in camera remote shutter, and a fast GPS lock is not supported. The watch comes with a 1-year warranty.

The companion app is free and ad-free, and covers an extensive range of tracking and reporting tools including activity reports, calorie burn, steps, water intake, weight, BMI, temperature, and an exercise diary with food diary support. Goal setting, achievements, coaching, voice feedback, inactivity alerts, and live tracking add structure to daily use, while route support and maps round out the fitness navigation side. Women's health features are well represented, with period notifications, fertile window notifications, ovulation prediction, and start date prediction all included. The app supports music playback, widgets, personalisation, and can be tailored to individual preferences; a barcode scanner is the one notable omission from the software feature set.

The watch includes a battery level indicator, auto pause, and passcode protection, and is compatible with both smart scales and external heart rate monitors for expanded tracking flexibility. It does not support Windows or Mac OS X desktop connectivity, and there is no external memory slot or 3.5 mm audio jack.
