The HyperX Alloy Rise is a full-size (100%) mechanical gaming keyboard with a high-profile design and a gasket mount, connecting to a host system over USB via a detachable wired cable. It operates at a polling rate of 8000 Hz and is not designed for Mac use. The board measures 454.5 mm wide, 142.2 mm deep, and 48.9 mm thick, with a weight of 1311 g, and it comes backed by a two-year warranty.
The Alloy Rise features a black case constructed from a combination of aluminum and plastic, with an aluminum plate underneath. It includes a backlit keyboard with RGB lighting directed north-facing, which benefits shine-through keycap setups. The board offers adjustable feet for typing angle customization, though no wrist rest is included in the box.
The Alloy Rise comes equipped with HyperX Red linear mechanical switches, offering a smooth, non-tactile keystroke feel with an actuation point of 1.8 mm, an actuation force of 40 g, and a total travel distance of 4 mm. The board supports hot-swappable switches, meaning the switches can be removed and replaced without soldering directly on the PCB.
The Alloy Rise supports N-key rollover (NKRO), ensuring every simultaneous keypress is registered independently. It does not include analog input, rapid trigger, dual actuation, or adjustable actuation functionality, nor does it offer a built-in display or USB passthrough port. On the software side, the board lacks QMK and VIA support, meaning it cannot be programmed through those open-source firmware platforms.
The Alloy Rise uses an ANSI (United States) layout with a standard key arrangement, fitted with shine-through PBT keycaps in an OEM profile that work well with the board's north-facing RGB lighting. Media controls are handled through dedicated media keys alongside a rotary dial, providing direct access to functions like volume adjustment without relying on function-layer shortcuts.
