Itel A50

The Itel A50 measures 163.9 mm tall, 75.7 mm wide, and 8.7 mm thick, with a total volume of 107.942901 cm³ and a weight of 193 g. It is a standard candy-bar form factor device — it cannot be folded and does not feature a rugged build.

The Itel A50 uses a 6.6-inch IPS LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1612 px and a pixel density of 267 ppi, running at a 60Hz refresh rate. The panel does not include branded damage-resistant glass, and there is no support for HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision. Always-On Display and a secondary screen are also absent.

The Itel A50 is powered by the Unisoc Tiger T603 chipset, built on a 12 nm process with an octa-core CPU configuration running two cores at 1.8 GHz and six at 1.6 GHz across 12 threads, supported by big.LITTLE and HMP scheduling. It comes with 3GB of DDR4 RAM at 1600 MHz and 128GB of eMMC 5.1 storage, with the system supporting a maximum of 8GB of RAM. Graphics are handled by the Mali-G57 MP1 GPU with a single execution unit clocked at 650 MHz, compatible with DirectX 12, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2. The SoC includes integrated LTE, TrustZone security, and a 9W TDP, with cache levels of 128 KB L1, 2 MB L2, and 1 MB L3.

The rear camera system features a dual-lens 8 MP setup with a CMOS sensor, single LED flash, and a range of manual controls including ISO, focus, exposure, and white balance, though optical image stabilization, phase-detection autofocus, laser autofocus, and optical zoom are not available. It supports HDR mode, burst mode, touch autofocus, continuous autofocus during video, slow-motion recording, and in-camera panoramas, but does not shoot RAW files and lacks manual shutter speed control. HDR10 and Dolby Vision recording are not supported, nor is 3D photo or video capture. The 5 MP front camera is a single-lens unit without a front-facing flash or under-display placement.

The device runs Android 14 and includes a broad set of privacy controls, covering clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access management, and app tracking blocking, though cross-site tracking blocking and Mail Privacy Protection are not available. On the customization side, it supports dark mode, dynamic theming, theme customization, widgets, customizable notifications, and an extra dim mode, while focus modes and app offloading are absent. Productivity features include split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, Live Text, sharing intents, a media picker, and the ability to play games while they download. The OS also offers offline voice recognition, voice commands, on-device machine learning, a child lock, multi-user support, battery health check, and phone tracking, though Wi-Fi password sharing, Quick Start, and direct OS vendor updates are not supported.

The Itel A50 houses a 5000 mAh rechargeable battery that supports fast charging at 10W, and a charger is included in the box. A battery level indicator is present, while wireless charging and a removable battery are not supported.

The Itel A50 includes a 3.5 mm headset jack and a built-in FM radio, while the speaker configuration is mono — stereo speakers are not present. None of the advanced Bluetooth audio codecs are supported, meaning aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC are all absent.

The Itel A50 supports dual SIM cards, Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n), GPS, and LTE cellular connectivity, with download speeds of up to 300 MBits/s and upload speeds of up to 150 MBits/s. It features a USB Type-C port (USB 2.0), an external memory slot, and a fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication, while 3D facial recognition, an iris scanner, and NFC are absent. The device does not support 5G, and additional features such as an infrared sensor, HDMI output, DLNA certification, ANT+, Galileo navigation, crash detection, satellite SOS, heart rate monitoring, motion or optical tracking, a built-in projector, and a stylus are all not included.

The device includes a video light for use during video recording, while the display is flat rather than curved and uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel.
