The JBL Quantum TWS Air follow a true wireless, in-ear design with no cables or neckband, and weigh just 17.6 g. They carry an IPX4 rating, making them sweat resistant and suitable for active use. The earbuds feature stereo speakers but do not include wingtips, RGB lighting, a UV light, or a display.
The JBL Quantum TWS Air use 6.8 mm drivers with an impedance of 16 Ohms and a sound pressure level of 102 dB/mW, covering a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. Passive noise reduction is present to help block out ambient sound, though the earbuds do not offer active noise cancellation, spatial audio, Dolby Atmos, Dirac Virtuo, or a neodymium magnet.
Each earbud holds a 50 mAh rechargeable battery rated for 8 hours of playback, while the 330 mAh charging case contributes an additional 16 hours, bringing combined usage time to 24 hours. A full charge takes 2 hours, and a battery level indicator is on hand to keep track of remaining power. Wireless charging and solar charging are not supported.
The JBL Quantum TWS Air connect wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.2 with a maximum range of 10 m and support fast pairing for quick device setup. USB Type-C is available for wired charging. On the codec side, the earbuds do not support LDAC, LDHC, AAC, any variant of aptX, Bluetooth LE Audio, or Auracast, and NFC pairing is also absent.
The JBL Quantum TWS Air include an ambient sound mode for environmental awareness and a mute function for quick silencing during calls or meetings. They can be used as a headset, feature voice prompts, and are controlled via a panel on the device itself rather than an in-line remote. Fast charging is supported, and a travel bag is included in the box. Notification readout, a temperature sensor, and a camera remote function are not available.
The JBL Quantum TWS Air are fitted with four microphones, and noise cancellation is applied to the mic input to help reduce unwanted background sound during calls and voice communication.
