The Keychron Q60 Max QMK/VIA Wireless is a compact 60% mechanical keyboard with a standard profile, designed for both gaming and general use. It supports Bluetooth 5.1, 2.4GHz wireless, and wired USB connectivity, with a 1000 Hz polling rate over its wired connection and a rated battery life of 100 hours. The keyboard uses a gasket mount construction and comes with a detachable cable, adjustable feet, and Mac compatibility out of the box. Physically, it measures 303.4 mm wide, 121 mm deep, and 33.8 mm thick, weighing 1519.6 g, and it carries a one-year warranty.
The keyboard features an aluminum case paired with a steel plate, finished in gray, giving it a solid and uniform construction. It includes RGB backlighting with a south-facing LED direction, and the backlight is fully active across the board. Adjustable feet are included to let users set a preferred typing angle, though no wrist rest is bundled in the box.
The keyboard ships with Gateron Jupiter Red mechanical switches, which offer a linear feel with a 2 mm actuation point, 45 g actuation force, and 4 mm of total travel distance. The switches are hot-swappable, allowing them to be replaced without soldering, which gives users the flexibility to change to a different switch type down the line.
The keyboard supports QMK and VIA firmware, giving users the ability to fully remap keys and customize behavior through well-established open-source tools. It also features NKRO (N-Key Rollover), ensuring that all simultaneous keypresses are registered accurately. On the other hand, it does not include ZMK support, analog input, rapid trigger, dual actuation, adjustable actuation, USB passthrough, or an onboard display.
The keyboard uses an ANSI (United States) layout with a standard key arrangement and comes fitted with PBT keycaps in the Cherry profile, known for its sculpted, low-profile feel across rows. There are no dedicated media keys and no rotary dial included.
