The Keychron V1 Ultra is a full-size (100%) gaming mechanical keyboard with a standard profile and gasket mount design, measuring 328.5 mm wide, 148.7 mm deep, and 21.5 mm thick at a weight of 770 g. It supports three connection modes — USB, Bluetooth 5.3, and 2.4GHz wireless — and operates at an 8000 Hz polling rate. For wireless use, the battery is rated at 660 hours, and the keyboard includes a detachable cable for wired operation. It is designed with Mac compatibility in mind and carries a one-year warranty.
The keyboard features a case constructed from a combination of plastic and aluminum, with an aluminum plate, and is available exclusively in black. It includes south-facing RGB backlighting across the full keyboard surface, which influences how light interacts with keycap legends. Adjustable feet are present to allow for typing angle customization, though no wrist rest is included in the package.
The V1 Ultra ships with Keychron Silk POM Switch Red mechanical switches, which have a linear feel and a fixed actuation point of 2 mm with a total travel distance of 4 mm. Actuation force is rated at 45 g, making for a light, consistent keystroke. The switches are hot-swappable, allowing them to be replaced without soldering.
On the firmware and feature side, the V1 Ultra supports ZMK firmware and N-key rollover (NKRO), but does not offer QMK or VIA support. Advanced switch features such as rapid trigger, adjustable actuation, dual actuation, and analog input are not available on this board. It also lacks USB passthrough and a built-in display.
The V1 Ultra uses an ANSI (United States) layout with a standard key arrangement and OEM-profile PBT double-shot keycaps, which offer a durable construction with legends molded through two layers of plastic. Media controls are accessible via the Fn key rather than dedicated keys, and a rotary dial is included for direct on-the-fly input.
