The Lava Probuds N21 follow a neckband design with an in-ear fit, and wingtips are included to help secure the earbuds during use. They carry an IPX6 ingress protection rating, making them water resistant against strong splashes. Stereo speakers are present for dual-channel audio output, while features such as RGB lighting, a display, and UV light are not part of this model. The earbuds are not true wireless, as they rely on the neckband cable rather than operating as fully independent units.
The Lava Probuds N21 cover a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz, spanning the full standard range of human hearing. Background noise reduction relies on passive noise isolation through the in-ear fit, as active noise cancellation is not supported. Spatial audio, Dolby Atmos, and Dirac Virtuo processing are not featured, and the drivers do not use a neodymium magnet.
The Lava Probuds N21 are equipped with a rechargeable battery rated for up to 40 hours of use, making them suitable for extended listening sessions without frequent recharging. A battery level indicator is included so users can monitor remaining charge at a glance. Wireless charging and solar power are not supported, so the earbuds are recharged through a wired connection.
The Lava Probuds N21 connect wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.3, with a maximum range of 10 meters and an audio latency of 50 ms. USB Type-C is present for wired charging, though NFC pairing and fast pairing are not supported. On the audio codec side, the earbuds do not include AAC, LDAC, LDHC, or any variant of aptX — including aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Low Latency, aptX Lossless, or aptX Voice. Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast are likewise absent from the feature set.
The Lava Probuds N21 support multipoint connectivity for up to two devices and can be used as a headset for calls, with a mute function available and voice prompts to confirm actions. An in-line control panel is present on the cable, and a control panel is also placed on the device itself, giving users multiple options for managing playback and calls. Fast charging is supported, and the earbuds come with a one-year warranty. Features not included are ambient sound mode, in/on-ear detection, a find device function, notification readout, a built-in translator, a body temperature sensor, a camera remote shutter, and a travel bag.
The Lava Probuds N21 includes a noise-canceling microphone, which works to reduce surrounding noise during calls for clearer voice transmission.
