Lava Yuva 4

The Lava Yuva 4 carries a IP67 rating, giving it full waterproof capability and making it resistant to dust and water immersion under standard conditions. It is a conventional candy-bar form factor — it does not fold and lacks a rugged reinforced build.

The Lava Yuva 4 features a 6.56″ IPS LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1600 px and a pixel density of 267 ppi. It refreshes at 90Hz, which helps deliver smoother on-screen motion, and the panel is covered by branded damage-resistant glass for added protection. The display does not support HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, and there is no Always-On Display mode or secondary screen.

The Lava Yuva 4 is powered by the Unisoc T606 chipset, a 12nm octa-core SoC running all eight threads at 1.6 GHz, paired with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM at 1600 MHz and 128GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage, with a maximum supported memory amount of 14GB. The processor uses big.LITTLE architecture with Heterogeneous Multi-Processing (HMP) and includes ARM TrustZone security, 64-bit support, and integrated LTE. Graphics are handled by the Mali G57 MP1 GPU, clocked at 650 MHz with 64 shading units, supporting DirectX 12, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2.0. Cache is arranged across L1 (128 KB), L2 (2 MB), and L3 (1 MB) levels, with a maximum memory bandwidth of 12.8 GB/s and a thermal design power of 10W. Benchmark results include a Geekbench 6 multi-core score of 1391, a Geekbench 5 multi-core score of 1175, and a PassMark score of 2663.

The Lava Yuva 4 features a single 50 MP rear camera with a CMOS sensor, phase-detection autofocus, touch autofocus, and continuous autofocus during video recording, though it lacks optical image stabilization, laser autofocus, and a back-illuminated sensor. The main camera supports a range of manual controls including exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, and offers shooting modes such as HDR, burst, panorama, timelapse, and slow-motion video, while RAW capture and manual shutter speed are not available. Video recording tops out at 1080p at 30fps, with no support for HDR10 or Dolby Vision recording. A single LED flash is present on the rear, while the front camera — an 8 MP single-lens unit — has no flash of its own and is positioned on the front face of the device rather than under the display. Optical zoom is not supported, and 360° panorama and 3D photo or video capture are also absent.

The Lava Yuva 4 runs Android 14, an open-source platform that supports multi-user profiles, offline voice recognition, voice commands, on-device machine learning, and device tracking. On the privacy side, it offers clipboard warnings, location privacy controls, camera and microphone access management, and the ability to block app tracking, though cross-site tracking blocking and Mail Privacy Protection are not included. The interface supports dark mode, dynamic and manual theme customization, widgets, customizable notifications, a media picker, full-page screenshots, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, sharing intents, Live Text, and an extra dim mode. Additional conveniences include a battery health check, child lock, and the ability to play games while they download. Features not present include Wi-Fi password sharing, focus modes, app offloading, direct OS vendor updates, and Quick Start.

The Lava Yuva 4 is equipped with a 5000 mAh rechargeable battery that supports 10W fast charging over a wired connection. The battery is non-removable and wireless charging is not supported. A battery level indicator is present, keeping the user informed of remaining charge at a glance.

The Lava Yuva 4 includes a 3.5mm headphone jack for wired audio and a built-in radio. Speaker output is mono, as stereo speakers are not present. On the wireless audio side, none of the advanced Bluetooth codec standards are supported — aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC are all absent.

The Lava Yuva 4 supports Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and a cellular module with LTE offering download speeds up to 300 MBits/s and upload speeds up to 100 MBits/s, though 5G is not supported. It accommodates two SIM cards, includes a USB Type-C port running USB 2.0, and has an external memory slot for expandable storage. Location is handled via GPS with Galileo support, and an accelerometer is present, while a gyroscope, compass, and barometer are all absent. Biometric security comes via a fingerprint scanner, while 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are not included. Features such as HDMI output, infrared sensor, ANT+, DLNA certification, heart rate monitor, crash detection, satellite SOS, motion tracking, optical tracking, and a built-in projector are not part of this device.

The Lava Yuva 4 includes a video light, which can be used to illuminate scenes during video recording. The display is flat rather than curved and uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel.
