The Marshall Monitor III is an over-ear headphone with a closed-back design and stereo speakers, weighing 250 g. It features a foldable build and comes bundled with a travel bag, making it practical to pack away when not in use. The cable is both detachable and tangle-free, adding to its everyday convenience. Water resistance is not included, and the headphone is not intended for children.
The Marshall Monitor III covers a full frequency range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz through 32 mm drivers, with an impedance of 35 Ohms and a sound pressure level of 117 dB/mW. It includes both active noise cancellation and passive noise reduction, offering two layers of isolation from ambient sound. Spatial audio is not supported, and the drivers do not use a neodymium magnet.
The Marshall Monitor III is equipped with a rechargeable battery offering up to 100 hours of playback, which reduces to 70 hours when active noise cancellation is active. Charging is done via USB Type-C and takes 2.5 hours to complete. A battery level indicator is included, so remaining charge is easy to check at a glance. The battery is not removable, and neither wireless charging nor solar charging is supported.
The Marshall Monitor III supports both wireless and wired connectivity, using Bluetooth 5.3 with a maximum range of 10 m. It is compatible with the AAC codec and includes Bluetooth LE Audio, though aptX, aptX Adaptive, aptX HD, aptX Low Latency, aptX Lossless, LDAC, LDHC, and Auracast are all absent. Pairing options are limited to standard Bluetooth, as neither fast pairing nor NFC pairing is available.
The Marshall Monitor III can be used as a headset, featuring a noise-canceling microphone and controls placed directly on the earcup — there is no in-line control panel on the cable. It supports multipoint connectivity for up to two devices simultaneously and includes an ambient sound mode for awareness of surrounding audio. In-ear detection allows music to pause automatically when the headphones are removed, though a dedicated mute function is not available.
