The Meizu Lucky 08 has a standard, non-folding form factor with a height of 163 mm and a width of 77.5 mm, while its 8.6 mm thickness keeps the profile fairly slim for a device weighing 202 g and occupying a volume of 108.6395 cm³. It does not feature a rugged build and carries no water resistance rating, so it offers no certified protection against moisture or physical stress.

The Meizu Lucky 08 uses an OLED/AMOLED touchscreen measuring 6.78″ with a resolution of 1264 x 2780 px and a pixel density of 450 ppi, delivering a sharp and detailed image across its large panel. The display runs at a 144Hz refresh rate and reaches a typical brightness of 800 nits, making it well-suited for smooth scrolling and reasonably comfortable outdoor visibility. That said, it lacks branded damage-resistant glass, does not support HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, and has no Always-On Display or secondary screen functionality.

The Meizu Lucky 08 is driven by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, a 4 nm octa-core chipset arranged in a big.LITTLE configuration with four cores clocked at 2.4 GHz and four at 1.95 GHz, supported by 8 threads, HMP, and a turbo speed of 2.4 GHz within a 5W TDP envelope. Graphics are handled by the integrated Adreno 710 GPU running at 940 MHz, which supports DirectX 12, OpenGL 3.2, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2. The chip also includes integrated LTE, TrustZone security, and 64-bit support. On the memory side, the device ships with 12GB of DDR5 RAM at 3200 MHz across two channels, offering up to 25.6 GB/s of bandwidth and a maximum supported memory amount of 16GB, alongside 512GB of internal storage. Benchmark results place the AnTuTu score at 823,245, with Geekbench 6 returning 1,015 in single-core and 2,970 in multi-core testing.

The Meizu Lucky 08 features a dual-lens rear camera system combining a 108 MP sensor at f/2.4 aperture with a 2 MP secondary lens at f/1.7, using a CMOS sensor and phase-detection autofocus for stills, along with continuous autofocus during video recording and touch autofocus for flexible focusing control. Manual controls cover exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, while burst mode, HDR, slow-motion video, panorama, and timelapse round out the shooting options; however, there is no optical image stabilization, no optical zoom, no RAW output, no manual shutter speed, and no laser autofocus. A single LED flash is present on the rear, though it is neither dual-tone nor RGB. On the front, an 8 MP single-lens camera sits at f/2 aperture with no dedicated flash, and the device does not support HDR10 or Dolby Vision recording, 3D capture, or 360-degree panoramas.

The Meizu Lucky 08 runs Android 14 and includes a broad set of privacy controls, covering location access, camera and microphone permissions, clipboard warnings, and app tracking prevention, though it does not block cross-site tracking and lacks Mail Privacy Protection. On the customization side, it supports dynamic theming, theme customization, dark mode, extra dim mode, customizable notifications, widgets, and a media picker, while focus modes, Wi-Fi password sharing, and app offloading are absent. Productivity and usability features are well covered, with split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, Live Text, sharing intents, multi-user support, a child lock, and the ability to play games while they download. The device also offers offline voice recognition, voice commands, on-device machine learning, phone tracking, and a battery health check, but it does not support Quick Start or direct OS updates from the vendor, and cannot function as a PC.

The Meizu Lucky 08 is equipped with a 6000 mAh rechargeable, non-removable battery that supports 45W wired fast charging, with a charger included in the box. A battery level indicator is present for convenient monitoring, though wireless charging is not supported.

The Meizu Lucky 08 features stereo speakers and supports aptX, aptX HD, and aptX Adaptive for wireless audio over Bluetooth, though it does not include LDAC or aptX Lossless. There is no 3.5 mm headphone jack and no built-in radio.

The Meizu Lucky 08 supports 5G connectivity with download speeds of up to 2900 MBits/s and upload speeds of up to 1500 MBits/s, and accommodates two SIM cards alongside a USB Type-C port and Bluetooth 5.1. Wi-Fi coverage spans Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), while navigation is handled by GPS with Galileo support. On the sensor front, the device includes a fingerprint scanner, gyroscope, accelerometer, and compass, but does not feature a barometer, infrared sensor, heart rate monitor, or any form of motion or optical tracking. Biometric security is limited to the fingerprint scanner, as 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are both absent, and there is no stylus included, no HDMI output, no DLNA certification, no ANT+ support, no crash detection, and no emergency SOS via satellite.

The Meizu Lucky 08 includes a video light for illuminating video recording, but its display is flat rather than curved and uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel.
