It weighs 196 g, giving it a moderately substantial feel in hand. The device does not feature a rugged build or a foldable form factor, and it carries no water resistance rating.

The Meizu Mblu 21 uses an LCD IPS touchscreen measuring 6.79 inches, delivering a resolution of 720 x 1640 pixels at a pixel density of 264 ppi. The display runs at a 90Hz refresh rate, which contributes to smoother on-screen motion. It does not feature branded damage-resistant glass, Always-On Display functionality, or support for HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, and there is no secondary screen present.

The Meizu Mblu 21 is powered by the Unisoc T606 chipset, built on a 12 nm process with an 8-thread CPU running all cores at 1.6 GHz, supported by big.LITTLE and HMP technologies for workload distribution. It comes with 4 GB of DDR4 RAM at 1600 MHz and 64 GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage, with a maximum supported memory amount of 14 GB and a peak memory bandwidth of 12.8 GB/s. Graphics are handled by the Mali G57 MP1 GPU, clocked at 650 MHz with 64 shading units, supporting DirectX 12, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2.0. The chip also integrates LTE and TrustZone security, operates as a 64-bit platform with a 10W TDP, and the cache hierarchy consists of 128 KB L1, 2 MB L2, and 1 MB L3. Benchmark results include an AnTuTu score of 239,300, Geekbench 6 multi-core of 1391, Geekbench 5 multi-core of 1175, and a PassMark score of 2663.

The Meizu Mblu 21 features a single 13 MP rear camera built around a CMOS sensor, with phase-detection autofocus for photos, touch autofocus, and continuous autofocus during video recording. Manual controls cover ISO, exposure, focus, and white balance, while HDR mode, burst shooting, and in-camera panorama are also supported. A single LED flash is present at the rear, though there is no dual-tone flash, optical image stabilization, laser autofocus, or optical zoom. The front camera comes in at 8 MP as a single-lens unit without a front-facing flash or an under-display placement. Slow-motion video, timelapse, RAW capture, manual shutter speed, 360-degree panorama, HDR10 recording, Dolby Vision recording, and 3D photo or video capabilities are not available on this device.

The Meizu Mblu 21 runs Android 14 and includes a broad range of software features covering both usability and privacy. On the privacy side, it offers clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access controls, and the ability to block app tracking, though Mail Privacy Protection and cross-site tracking blocking are not present. The interface supports dark mode, dynamic theming, theme customization, widgets, and an extra dim mode, while productivity is aided by split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, customizable notifications, a media picker, and sharing intents. It also supports on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, Live Text, multi-user accounts, a child lock, battery health check, and device position tracking. Games can be played while downloading, and the OS is free and open source. Features not included are Wi-Fi password sharing, focus modes, app offloading, direct OS vendor updates, Quick Start, and the ability to be used as a PC.

The Meizu Mblu 21 is equipped with a 4900 mAh rechargeable, non-removable battery that includes a battery level indicator. It charges via cable at a maximum speed of 10W, with a charger included in the box. Neither wireless charging nor fast charging is supported.

The Meizu Mblu 21 has a limited audio feature set — it does not include stereo speakers or a radio, and none of the advanced Bluetooth audio codecs are supported, meaning aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC are all absent.

The Meizu Mblu 21 supports Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), Bluetooth 5.0, and a cellular module with download speeds of up to 300 Mbit/s and upload speeds of up to 100 Mbit/s, though 5G is not supported. It accommodates a single SIM card and connects via USB Type-C. Location is handled through GPS with Galileo support, and an accelerometer is also present, while a gyroscope, compass, barometer, and motion or optical tracking are all absent. A fingerprint scanner is included for biometric authentication, but there is no 3D facial recognition or iris scanner. NFC, ANT+, DLNA, infrared sensor, HDMI output, heart rate monitor, crash detection, emergency SOS via satellite, and a built-in projector are not featured on this device.

The Meizu Mblu 21 includes a video light for use during video recording, while the display is flat and standard — there is no curved panel, sapphire glass, or e-paper screen.
