The Meizu Note 16 Pro has a standard candy-bar form factor — it neither folds nor carries a rugged build — measuring 163.8 mm tall, 76.2 mm wide, and 8.4 mm thick, with a total volume of roughly 104.85 cm³. It weighs 197.5 g and holds an IP68 ingress protection rating, confirming full waterproof capability under the conditions that certification covers.

The Meizu Note 16 Pro uses an OLED/AMOLED touch panel measuring 6.78″ with a resolution of 1224 x 2720 px and a pixel density of 440 ppi. The screen runs at a 144Hz refresh rate and reaches a typical brightness of 700 nits, while the always-on display mode keeps glanceable information visible at all times. The panel does not carry branded damage-resistant glass and lacks support for HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision; there is also no secondary screen present.

The Meizu Note 16 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, a 4 nm octa-core SoC configured as one core at 2.5 GHz, three at 2.4 GHz, and four efficiency cores at 1.8 GHz, with a turbo clock of 2.4 GHz and a TDP of 5W. The chip employs big.LITTLE architecture with HMP and full multithreading across 8 threads, integrates LTE, and is backed by TrustZone security. Graphics are handled by an integrated Adreno 710 GPU running at 1050 MHz with 128 shading units, supporting DirectX 12, OpenGL 3.2, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2. The device pairs the SoC with 16GB of DDR5 RAM at 3200 MHz — reaching a maximum memory bandwidth of 25.6 GB/s — alongside 512GB of internal storage, and the 64-bit platform recorded Geekbench 6 scores of 1162 single-core and 3239 multi-core.

The Meizu Note 16 Pro features a triple rear camera system built on a CMOS sensor, with lenses at 50 MP (f/1.8), 8 MP (f/2.2), and 2 MP (f/2.4) respectively, though optical image stabilization and optical zoom are absent. Autofocus is handled through phase-detection and touch autofocus, with continuous autofocus also available during video recording, while laser autofocus is not included. Manual controls cover exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, and the camera supports HDR mode, burst shooting, and in-camera panoramas; slow-motion recording, RAW capture, manual shutter speed, timelapse, HDR10 recording, and Dolby Vision recording are not supported. A single LED flash is present at the rear — neither dual-tone nor RGB — while the front camera offers an 8 MP sensor at f/2.1 with no flash, no secondary lens, and no under-display placement.

The operating system on the Meizu Note 16 Pro is free and open source and covers a broad set of privacy controls, including clipboard warnings, location privacy options, and camera/microphone access management, though Mail Privacy Protection is not present. Customization options are extensive, with theme customization, dynamic theming, dark mode, an extra dim mode, widgets, and customizable notifications all supported. Productivity features include split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, sharing intents, app offloading, focus modes, and the ability to play games while they download; SharePlay, Live Text, and Quick Start are not available. The system also supports multi-user access, a child lock, Wi-Fi password sharing, battery health checks, phone tracking, offline voice recognition, and voice commands, while direct OS vendor updates and on-device machine learning are not part of the feature set.

The Meizu Note 16 Pro is equipped with a 6200 mAh rechargeable battery that supports 80W fast charging, allowing for notably quicker top-ups over a wired connection. A battery level indicator is present, keeping the user informed of remaining charge at a glance. Wireless charging is not supported, and the battery is non-removable.

The Meizu Note 16 Pro includes stereo speakers and covers a solid range of Bluetooth audio codecs, with support for aptX, aptX HD, and aptX Adaptive, while aptX Lossless and LDAC are not available. A 3.5 mm headphone jack is absent, and there is no built-in radio.

The Meizu Note 16 Pro supports 5G connectivity with a maximum download speed of 2900 MBits/s, accommodates two SIM cards, and connects wirelessly via Wi-Fi 4, Wi-Fi 5, and Wi-Fi 6, along with Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC. The USB Type-C port runs on USB 2.0, and there is no external memory slot, HDMI output, or DLNA certification. Sensors on board include a fingerprint scanner, gyroscope, accelerometer, compass, GPS with Galileo support, and an infrared sensor, while a barometer, heart rate monitor, and ANT+ are absent. Security biometrics are limited to the fingerprint scanner — 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are not included — and there is no crash detection, satellite SOS, stylus, or built-in projector.

The Meizu Note 16 Pro includes a video light for use during video recording, while the display is flat rather than curved and uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel.
