Meizu Note 21 Pro

The Meizu Note 21 Pro has a standard candy-bar form factor, as it neither folds nor features a rugged build. It measures 165 x 74.4 mm in footprint with a thickness of 8 mm, giving it a fairly slim profile for a device of its screen size. Notably, it offers no water resistance rating, so it provides no certified protection against moisture or dust exposure.

The Meizu Note 21 Pro features a 6.78″ IPS LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a pixel density of 388 ppi, resulting in a reasonably detailed image. The panel runs at a 90Hz refresh rate, which contributes to smoother scrolling and general navigation. It does not support HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, and there is no Always-On Display functionality or secondary screen. The display also lacks branded damage-resistant glass coverage.

The Meizu Note 21 Pro is powered by the Mediatek Helio G99 chipset, built on a 6 nm process with an octa-core CPU configuration of 2 x 2.2 GHz and 6 x 2 GHz cores across 8 threads, employing big.LITTLE architecture with Heterogeneous Multi-Processing for workload efficiency. It is paired with 8GB of LPDDR4 RAM running at 4266 MHz across two memory channels, delivering a maximum memory bandwidth of 17.1 GB/s, with support for up to 12GB total, and 256GB of eMMC 5.2 internal storage. The SoC scores 416,900 on AnTuTu, 1,979 in Geekbench 6 multi-core, and 729 in single-core, while graphics are handled by the Mali G57 GPU clocked at 950 MHz with a turbo frequency of 2133 MHz, 32 shading units, and support for DirectX 11, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2.0. Additional hardware features include integrated LTE, ARM TrustZone security, 64-bit support, and a thermal design power rating of 5W with a maximum CPU temperature of 95 °C.

The Meizu Note 21 Pro features a dual-lens rear camera system with 64 MP and 2 MP sensors, using a CMOS sensor type and supporting phase-detection autofocus for stills as well as continuous autofocus during video recording. Manual controls cover ISO, exposure, focus, and white balance, and the camera also offers burst mode, in-camera panoramas, touch autofocus, and a built-in HDR mode, though manual shutter speed, RAW capture, slow-motion video, timelapse, and 360° panorama shooting are not available. A single LED flash is present on the rear, while the front houses a 13 MP single-lens camera without a flash or under-display placement. Optical image stabilization and laser autofocus are absent, optical zoom stands at 0x, and video recording does not support HDR10 or Dolby Vision formats.

The Meizu Note 21 Pro runs Android 14 and includes a broad range of software features covering both usability and privacy. On the privacy side, it offers clipboard warnings, location privacy controls, and camera/microphone access management, along with the ability to block app tracking, though cross-site tracking blocking and Mail Privacy Protection are not present. The interface supports dark mode, dynamic theming, theme customization, widgets, customizable notifications, a media picker, full-page screenshots, split-screen multitasking, picture-in-picture, and an extra dim mode for low-light comfort. It also provides on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, Live Text, sharing intents, a child lock, multi-user support, phone tracking, battery health monitoring, and the ability to play games while they download. Features not included are focus modes, Wi-Fi password sharing, app offloading, Quick Start, direct OS vendor updates, and the ability to function as a PC.

The Meizu Note 21 Pro is equipped with a 5000 mAh rechargeable, non-removable battery that supports 30W fast charging, and a charger is included in the box. A battery level indicator is available for monitoring charge status. Wireless charging is not supported.

The Meizu Note 21 Pro has a limited audio feature set, as it lacks stereo speakers and does not support any high-quality Bluetooth audio codecs, including aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, or LDAC. There is also no built-in radio.

The Meizu Note 21 Pro supports Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and USB Type-C, with a single SIM card slot and no 5G support. Cellular connectivity is present, and download speeds reach up to 650 MBits/s with upload speeds of up to 150 MBits/s. For location, it includes GPS with Galileo support, while a compass, gyroscope, barometer, and motion or optical tracking are all absent. The device features a fingerprint scanner and an accelerometer, but does not offer 3D facial recognition, an iris scanner, or a heart rate monitor. Additional features such as HDMI output, an infrared sensor, ANT+ support, DLNA certification, crash detection, emergency SOS via satellite, a built-in projector, and a stylus are likewise not included.

The Meizu Note 21 Pro includes a video light for use during video recording, while its display is flat rather than curved and uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel.
