The Moondrop Edge uses an over-ear fit and features a closed-back design with stereo speakers. It is not intended for children. The headphones can be folded, which aids compact storage, and a travel bag is included in the box, making it straightforward to carry them on the go.
The Moondrop Edge covers a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz through a 40 mm driver unit backed by a neodymium magnet. It includes both active noise cancellation and passive noise reduction, offering two layers of sound isolation. Spatial audio is not supported.
The Moondrop Edge is equipped with a built-in rechargeable battery that delivers 48 hours of battery life and fully recharges in just 1.5 hours via USB Type-C. A battery level indicator is included so users can monitor remaining charge at a glance. The battery is not removable, and the headphones support neither wireless charging nor solar charging.
The Moondrop Edge connects wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.4 with a maximum range of 10 m. For audio codecs, it supports LDAC and AAC, while aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Low Latency, aptX Lossless, and LDHC are not available. Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast are likewise absent, and the headphones do not offer fast pairing or NFC-based pairing.
The Moondrop Edge can be used as a headset and features four microphones with noise-canceling capability, making it suited for voice calls and communication tasks. Controls are handled through an on-device panel rather than an in-line remote, and an ambient sound mode allows environmental audio to pass through when needed. In/on-ear detection and a mute function are not included. The headphones carry a one-year warranty.
