Motorola Moto G06

The Motorola Moto G06 has a non-folding, standard-form design measuring 171.4 mm tall, 77.5 mm wide, and 8.3 mm thick, with a total volume of 110.25 cm³ and a weight of 220 g. It carries an IP64 rating, meaning it is rated for protection against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, though it does not feature a rugged build intended for more demanding physical conditions.

The Moto G06 features a 6.88-inch IPS LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1640 px and a pixel density of 260 ppi, paired with a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother on-screen motion. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 3, adding a layer of resistance against everyday scratches and minor impacts. It does not support HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, and there is no Always-On Display mode or secondary screen.

The Moto G06 is driven by the MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra chipset, built on a 12nm process with 5,500 million transistors and an octa-core CPU configuration running at 2 x 2 GHz and 6 x 1.8 GHz with a turbo ceiling of 2 GHz, spread across 8 threads using big.LITTLE technology and a TDP of 5W. It is paired with 8GB of DDR4 RAM running at 1,800 MHz across two memory channels, delivering a maximum memory bandwidth of 13.41 GB/s, alongside 256GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage. Graphics are handled by the integrated Mali G52 MP2 GPU featuring 2 execution units, 32 shading units, and a turbo clock of 950 MHz, with support for DirectX 12, OpenGL 3.2, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2. The SoC also includes integrated LTE, TrustZone security, and 64-bit support, while the CPU is backed by 0.3 MB of L2 cache and 1 MB of L3 cache. In Geekbench 6, the device scores 420 in single-core and 1,391 in multi-core testing, with Geekbench 5 results of 350 and 1,300 respectively.

The Moto G06 sports a single rear camera with a 50MP CMOS sensor and an f/1.8 aperture, capable of recording video at 1080p and 30fps with continuous autofocus during recording, though optical image stabilization and optical zoom are not available. Autofocus options include phase-detection and touch autofocus, while the manual controls on offer cover exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance — though manual shutter speed is not supported. The camera also handles HDR, burst mode, panoramas, slow-motion video, and timelapse, while a single LED flash provides lighting assistance; dual-tone, RGB, and front-facing flash options are absent. On the front, an 8MP camera with an f/2.1 aperture handles selfies as a single-lens setup without an under-display position or front flash. Neither HDR10 nor Dolby Vision recording is supported, and the camera cannot shoot in RAW format or capture 3D and 360-degree content.

The Moto G06 runs Android 15 as a free and open-source operating system, supporting multiple user accounts, device tracking, offline voice recognition, and voice commands out of the box. On the privacy side, it provides clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access controls, and the ability to block app tracking, though cross-site tracking blocking and Mail Privacy Protection are not included. The interface supports dark mode, dynamic and manual theme customization, widgets, customizable notifications with granular permission controls, a media picker, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, Live Text, sharing intents, and an extra dim mode for low-light comfort. Additional conveniences include a child lock, battery health check, on-device machine learning, the ability to play games while they download, and app offloading to free up storage. Focus modes, Wi-Fi password sharing, Quick Start, and the ability to function as a PC are not supported, and the device does not receive direct OS updates from the vendor.

The Moto G06 is equipped with a 5200 mAh rechargeable, non-removable battery that supports wired fast charging at up to 10W, along with a battery level indicator to keep track of remaining charge. Wireless charging and reverse wireless charging are not available on this device.

The Moto G06 includes a 3.5mm headphone jack and stereo speakers for audio output, covering both wired and built-in listening options. However, it does not support any advanced Bluetooth audio codecs — aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC are all absent — and there is no built-in radio tuner.

The Moto G06 supports dual SIM cards and connects via Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), with cellular connectivity through an integrated module, though 5G is not supported. The device uses a USB Type-C port running USB 2.0 and offers download speeds of up to 300 Mbit/s and upload speeds of up to 100 Mbit/s. NFC is present for short-range communication, and location is handled through GPS with Galileo support, while a compass, gyroscope, and barometer are not included. On-board sensors are limited to an accelerometer, and biometric security is provided by a fingerprint scanner, with 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner both absent. An external memory slot adds storage flexibility, but HDMI output, DLNA certification, ANT+, infrared sensor, heart rate monitor, motion and optical tracking, a built-in projector, stylus, crash detection, and emergency SOS via satellite are all unavailable.

The Moto G06 features a video light to assist with illumination during video recording, while its display is flat and uses neither sapphire glass nor e-paper technology.
